Ever wanted to sock someone on behalf of DH?

DH had a work-organized baby-shower "happy hour" for one of his male coworkers. He told me about it last week, and also felt like he couldn't go due to where he is emotionally. He contributed to a team gift card, but didn't attend. IF is very raw for both of us right now. He needed to be away from it.

This morning it came back and smacked him in the face: He forwarded me the email from the father to be to his department, thanking everyone for the baby shower and gift card bought by his coworkers:

Hey everyone,

Thank you so much for coming to the Happy Baby Shower Hour yesterday! We had a great time and really appreciate everyone’s generosity. My wife has a better understanding of why I enjoy working with all of you crazy people. I left last night with my mind filled with your sound advice and now look forward to buying a convertible, insulting my kid, and repeatedly asking God why we didn’t use birth control.

Oh. My. Gosh. I think I just lost my damn mind.

Have you ever wanted to fly through the screen and throat punch someone you've never met? I can tell this email really hurt him and he's in an extra bad place now. It makes me so angry! How can people be so clueless and cruel? Oh I know. They never had to fight a fight like IF. I wish I could somehow protect DH from this kind of pain, but obviously I can't.

I wish I could make DH not hurt. I think that's probably the worst part of IF for me.

Ugh. That's awful and tacky. I'm NOT into it. Glad your hubby stepped out of the party. Too bad he had to read that. I probably would have just deleted without reading. Hugs to you guys.
