We're having a very small party for DD2 this Saturday.
It's going to be us, my parents, my brother (and SIL and nieces, of course), and one couple with 3 kids the same age as ours.
The weather is supposed to be really nice, so I want to keep everyone outside as much as possible. Keeping it simple, we're doing hotdogs on the gril.
For side dishes, we'll have nachos and guacamole, veggie sticks and dip, and cucumber mango avocado salad.
My question: does the salad sound good to you? It's cucumber, mango, and avocado, with a little olive oil, brown sugar, lemon juice, vinegar, and cilantro. I want something the kids will eat (so no lettuce) and that is somewhat healthy to "offset" (so to speak) the hotdogs (so no pasta salad - the kids will eat the pasta and leave everything else).
Also, I am attempting to make
this (<---- clicky) for dessert. I just hope it doesn't turn into some sort of "Nailed it" fiasco.
Farewell, nesticle, you will be missed

2. The salad is NMS but if your kids will eat it, more power to you! Lots of healthy fats in avacado!
3. If you go to www.justjennrecipes.com she has a tutorial on making an "ice cream bomb" and while I adore Martha, Jenn makes everything easier!
I read on another board that the gene makes it taste like SOAP which is exactly what I have been saying for years. I am Latin and not liking cilantro is like a crime, lol!
The watermelon thing is super cute! I haven't ever seen that before.
