Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS at 17 when they did some blood work to see if I had thyroid problems. My doctor told me what I had, gave me a website to research it on, and put me on birth control. I am now 21 and my husband and I decided to try and get pregnant. I went off my birth control in January and started trying. I had one period in February for nine days and then nothing for five months! I have never in my life gone five months without a period! I went to my OBGYN today to discuss what has been going on. After telling her I would prefer to do things as natural as possible with eating right, exercising, and possibly taking Chasteberry Vitex, she told me that unless I was over weight those things probably wouldn't help me and that I'm young and that theres no hurry. She wrote me a prescription for Provera and Clomid, told me to call her if I have any problems and sent me on my merry way. I am totally lost! I have read so many mixed things about Clomid and wanted to go the natural way in all this but then again I really want a baby. And not having a doctor support/encourage the natural way is very discouraging. Has anyone been in this position? Any advice? Tips? Should I just go ahead and take what she prescribed?
