Question regarding flying while pregnant

Should I be concerned at all about flying at 14 weeks pregnant? I have had no complications. We had a Dr. appointment today and I meant to ask and forgot, now instead of calling I feel like I should just leave well enough alone rather than risk the Dr. being overly cautious.

  • Nope. I flew cross country three times while pregnant. At 8 weeks and 23 weeks to Disneyland and at 15 weeks for a funeral. No issues.

  • At 14 weeks, I don't think there's anything to be concerned about given your complication free pregnancy so far.

I flew across the world (from Singapore back to the US) when I was 32 weeks along with my first DS (needed a written approval from my OB at that time) and I flew from to and from VA (from TX) when I was 19 weeks with my twins.

Just drink a lot of water and get up and walk the aisle a few times. GL!

  • You should be ok.  Drink water and walk around at least once an hour.  I flew at 23 weeks, but that was stressful because it was an international flight.

  • Just wanted to update: My husband made me call the doctor and I did get permission to fly!!

Better safe than sorry, I guess, the doctor has been overly cautious imo and freaked out when I had some very light pink spotting and put me on BR for 6 days, so I was worried to ask!

I am looking forward to our, extremely quick, last hurrah :D

  • Yup, I just flew last week at 15 weeks and my doctor had no problems with my trip at all besides advising me to get up and walk a bit. Safe travels!
    BFP #1 on 12/15/11 but missed m/c with d&c on 2/1/12.
BFP #2 on 5/1/13 = boy/girl TWINS with EDD of 1/3/14 but expected no later than 12/20/13.
  • I flew several times, including at 37 wks for my dad's funeral. I had no issues, and my Dr supported it.
