Has anyone done this program? I am Week 4, day 3, and I am doing better
than I thought- and I have always hated running, but now I love it. The 5
minute jogs about kill me, but I am doing it. I like to look ahead at
the next week, and the 3rd day of week 5 is jog 20 minutes. Uh, I don't
think so. My question is, has anyone repeated weeks until you feel you
are ready to move on?
Re: Couch to 5k
I started this program yesterday, and intend to repeat weeks until I feel confident enough to move onto the next week.
And good for you making it to week 4! That seems super hard to me right now.
This made me smile! I haven't done the program, but I think a lot of "non-runners" ease into running and then catch the running fever in a very similar fashion. I was one of those HS athletes who thought "running the mile" for volleyball was totally unnecessary and ridiculous. When I went to college, I transitioned from rollerblading daily to jogging inside, and it seemed like I blinked and all of a sudden I loved running. My older brother talked me into training for a marathon after I had run a couple half-marathons, and it was that outside encouragement that showed me just how much we can do when we take our time and follow a plan.
I encourage you, OP, to follow the plan as you feel most comfortable, but realize that pushing slightly outside of your comfort zone could have some really positive benefits. I wish you the best of luck and nice work so far!!
