I read your WTF thing about your throat. Out of curiosity is it like a lump you can't swallow right in-between your collar bone at the bottom of your throat? No matter how many times you swallow it won't go down? I that is way too personal sorry but I had the exact same thing and know what it could be.

  • Okay for me I went to my ENT and I told him what I described and he put a camera down my throat and took some pictures and it turned out my esophagus was swollen due to silent reflux. I thought it was a lump however it just gets swollen with certain foods. Now I have to eat healthier to avoid the swelling.
  • Thanks!!! Maybe I'll try to take some Zantac or something and see if it helps.

My DH actually suggested the same thing! He had silent reflux and his esophagus got so irritated and swollen that he would choke sometimes. So scary. He's on prescription Prilosec now. I wasnt sure if this could be the same thing or not. I've never had problems before, except pregnancy heartburn. I have been eating a ton of tomatoes lately though.

I am still in shock that the doc was like, "have a z pack".

  • Especially after I waited an hour to see her. She's always been terrible though. Everytime I end up with her I regret it. :(

  • Yeah when my throat started to swell after a week I was freaking out. I totally thought I had a tumor. My doc did give me a prescription to help also as well as a list of foods that can cause the reflux. It was kind of shocking since I never had any issues before this. I could count on one hand how many times I have had heartburn.  :D
  • I got paranoid it was my thyroid. I've got pretty bad hypothyroidism. Got worried something was wrong.
