I do it myself, but use a intuit online payroll to track everything. It took awhile to setup, now I can pay her in minutes, and we use direct deposit. taxes took awhile to figure out, but now that it is setup and I'm organized, I just go to the state websites and pay everything online. federal taxes were included with our income tax, so that is a once a year thing. state taxes are quarterly.

I was looking at Intuit, and it seemed really simple (and reasonably priced) to set up an account and it sounds like they get you all the quarterly/year end forms too. Plus i liked that we could offer her direct deposit through them. That seems like a nice feature for the nanny as much as for us not having to cut checks. I also looked at a few other companies that came up when I googled but they were all like 2-3x as much for what seemed to be the same services.
you didn't ask me but I just write checks from my bank account no service needed
The actual payment isn't what I'm concerned about, it's dealing with calculating withholding and then the quarterly state filings/payments, preparing her W-2 at end of year, and paperwork to feds at end of year. I just wondered if people found a company taking care of those things was worth the expense. Obviously having an option to offer direct deposit would be a nice bonus too.
Re: Nanny Tax
Do you recommend Intuit?
