2nd Trimester

Is it possible to feel movement already?

I'm almost 14 weeks with baby #3 and I swear at times during the day when I am sitting down I can feel movement in my lower abdomen. Is it possible already? I don't remember it being this early with my girls!

Re: Is it possible to feel movement already?

  • Yes, it's possible. Also, #3 might mean your body is just a bit more attuned to things.

  • Yep just like PP said your body is more in tune with those feelings. With baby #2 I started to feel movements around 15 weeks. I'm 17 weeks now and I always feel LO! You're not crazy ;)

  • It is possible! Especially if it's your third.

I'm not for sure if I'm feeling baby # 2 yet or not, so I understand the wondering. Our first was a little gymnast, so it will be interesting to see what # 2 does. :)

  • This is my 3rd and I have felt movement for a few weeks now :)

  • This is my 3rd and I started feeling movement yesterday.  No wonder, on the ultrasound I had earlier this week, baby was jumping all over!
Mom to Ryan (3/28/07) and William (10/26/11).  Surprise- We are expecting baby #3 on February 1, 2014!

  • I'm 14 weeks now and haven't felt anything except pulling so I'm guessing its my uterus stretching.  I can't wait to feel the baby....I know some people feel it earlier then others but what is usually the time frame on when you can feel it?
  • Yep. I started feeling movement (this is #2) for a few weeks now and I am 16 weeks.

I have to disagree with every one. I don't think what you are feeling is actually fetal movement. The baby is so tiny and even though baby is moving around, it is so light and there is plenty of room in there that it isn't baby you are feeling.

I was told if it was your 2nd or 3rd, etc pregnancy you do feel early.  But when its your first its too soon to feel.  Im 14 weeks and I dont feel anything except pulling at times.

With my 1st I started feeling movement early, around 14 weeks, but I had no idea that's actually what it was.  2nd and 3rd were easier because I knew what I was feeling.  I've already started feeling a few rare flutters with this one!

  • Actually I have to disagree. Even my OB said it is possible to feel movement earlier in subsequent pregnancies. After being pregnant before I know the difference between Gas and movement.

This is my first and I felt LO around 14-15wks. Felt like bubbles popping
  • yes it is! I felt it that early with #2. Depends on their position and sometimes they are a little ahead of the curve

  • I'm a first timer and felt mine almost exactly at 16 weeks. Felt like really fast short tapping. Only lasted a few seconds, but I feel them often, especially when I 'm relaxing.
  • I'm a FTM also! And I've been feeling tapping or poking. At first I thought it was round ligament pain but it happens at least once or twice a day near my belly button so I can't help but wonder if that's the baby!
