Clicky Poll: What are you secretly hoping for?

This question is for those who don't know the sex of the baby yet. Ya, ya I know we all just really want a healthy baby, but deep down inside you know you'd prefer one or the other, if you had to choose. So what are you hoping for? No SS this time; you have to choose!!!

I'm so conflicted on this one. I kind of want a girl so we get to experience raising both sexes and so my husband, who grew up in a family with 3 boys, would get to experience a daughter's love for her daddy (this might be because I am such a daddy's girl and come from a family of 3 girls), but then I also would love for my son to have a little brother to play with and it would mean we wouldn't have to buy more clothes.

  • DH really wants at least one boy as it would be the only opportunity to pass on the family name. It's not a common name which makes it more important to him. This is our first and based on his family history it's more likely we'll have a girl.
I don't really have a preference as I want both for different reasons, but if I had to choose I'd probably say boy because DH really wants a boy.

Fingers crossed we eventually have a big family, so we get to experience both sides :)

  • I didn't vote because I really, truly, do not have a preference. If I have a girl I get all the cute girly stuff, and all the mother/daughter stuff. If I have another boy I literally have everything that I need (right clothing seasons and everything) which is extremely practical plus I love having a boy so another one would be just as fun.

That's how I feel!  I'd love to have one of each for the fun of raising both - BUT I think it would be great to have two little boys and hopefully they would be good friends!

  • I actually don't have a preference. I go back and forth every day, sometimes change my mind in the same day.

Yes I'm kind of there too. I have reasons for wanting both. I naturally want a girl (so that's how I voted), but last night a whole boy nursery design came to me and now I kinda really want to put that together! We will see...

  • Go team pink! ;)

I have no shame in saying that we're both hoping for a girl this time.  I am 1 of 3 girls and LOVE my sisters so much.  It's only natural for me to want the same thing for my daughter (a sister, that is).  That's not to say that I won't be just as happy if this is another boy.  I look at my boys now and I don't know what I'd do without them... I'd be LUCKY to have another <3

  • We have a boy, and I would love a girl. Obviously ill be happy with either or, I wouldn't be disappointed with a boy, I love little boys, they are so sweet. But there has not been one girl in DHs family in over 6 generations. Like hundreds of years and the men don't produce girls. So I think knowing its not very likely makes me hope and pray for a little girl, at least one of our kids I hope will be a little girl!
  • With my first, I hoped for a boy; with our last baby, I had no preference. This time, I've made it clear that I do want a girl.

My husband wants a boy and is convinced it's a boy. I would love to have one of each, especially since this probably our last baby.

  • I didn't vote b/c I honestly don't have a preference this time. I will admit I did hope for a girl last time. I'd love to have a son, and I'd love to give my daughter the fun of having a sister. So win-win, no matter what the outcome in my opinion!

  • I keep going back and forth. I would love for DS to have a brother and use all his stuff, but I have three sisters and would love to have a girl so I am very torn. I would love either though and just can't wait to find out!

  • We already know #2 is a boy, but I can say I wanted a girl. I'm estatic to have another little man running around and I can't wait to see my boys grow up together, but since we're done at 2 I would have liked a daughter to have one of each.

  • We'd both really love a boy this go around. I want to see how parenting a boy differs lol And H wants a mini-me, to carry on the family name. And if we have another girl, well then at least we have two beautiful, healthy offspring ;))

I don't have a preference either. Each sex has their own set of pros and cons for me. My husband would like to experience raising a son and my daughter says she wants a baby sister. We'll be ecstatic either way!
  • I had no strong feelings either way until my super obnoxious SIL told me I couldn't - that's right couldn't - have a girl before she does.  So now I'm just hoping for a girl just to spite her lol.

Seriously though, I would be thrilled with a boy.  My nephews are so much fun and would have a blast showing a new little boy the ropes as they grow up.

  • I chose girl, simply for convenience of having 2 girls exactly 2 years apart, for sharing clothes and such. I think they'd be great friends forever, and wear cute matchy outfits. However, I really don't have a preference, my mind changes often. It would be great to have a little boy as well, to even things out.
