Did you not notice that TB was broken, or were you speshul and able to get it working before 9:40 like the rest of us.... Anyway, here goes the UO for Thursday.....
It seems that lately this is an UO around me... I don't think people should freak out every time a kid trips, falls, bangs their head. Seriously calm the F down people. She just fell on her butt - it's padded, with baby chub and a diaper. She's fine.
I think unless a kid seriously falls and hurts themselves, you're just setting them up to cry every time they get a bump. When J falls down I look at her and say "Uh Oh!" and I smile at her, so she knows it's no biggie. Get up, brush it off and move on!
My sister is only 4 weeks pregnant and I'm already finding her annoying. She tells me this morning she had indigestion last night "because of the baby"! Bish, no. You are not having "symptoms" yet. Get back to me in a month.
Also, I am waiting for my period to show up because I'm going on a cruise Monday and I was really hoping to not have to deal with the megabox of tampons on the boat! Why is it the one f*cking time I want my period to show up, it does not? Eff you, Aunt Flo. I guess this isn't really an UO, I just needed to put it somewhere.
I don't like little boys with long hair. I think it makes them look like a girl. In my experience the parents then get upset when their boy is mistaken for a girl. Then cut his freakin hair!
I love when my kid gets mistaken for a girl. I figure that means he is really, really, ridiculously good looking. Who doesn't love that? I'm thinking of dressing him up as a girl for Halloween, just to get some sparkle & tutu love out of my system, and to have a really embarrassing picture for his senior yearbook.

@ThePinkSuperhero That's amazing! Please post pictures when you do it! =D>

I am on the waiting bench too. Not for a specific reason but ya know, she needs to show her ugly face. I am bad about keeping track but I know it's due. I am almost freaking out and about to POAS. AHHHHHHH
I refuse to POAS because I've done that before when I think, oh hey, and it's always negative and then I just wasted a test. I keep track on an app and this is only day 30; I've had some short cycles lately so I guess I'm due for a long one. Better come ASAP because I do not need to be dealing with tampons on the cruise!
I just got one. Blueberry should not be a flavor option for lattes, it just tastes wrong and I wasted money on it so I'm going to have to drink it. >:P

Nautical wear on babies. Hate it with a passion and font get why people love it. Unless they're going on their yacht it looks silly. Stop buying this stuff for my kid it's ugly
I used beignet mix to make pancakes for breakfast. I don't want to get pregnant ever again in my life but I want another baby. My aunt came to Kendall's birthday party and I was not happy about it because she was not invited. While there was only one child and beer, that was not an invitation to get drunk and annoy the pissss out of me. My cousin is in prison, my aunt is an alcoholic and my granny is co-dependent, I don't care that she doesn't see Kendall.
Mmmmmmm... that sounds wonderful!

I have a friend who is having gastric by-pass surgery next month. She has been overweight all her life. While I think it is great she is doing something she really wants to, I think the constant posting on FB to get people to donate money to help her after the surgery is BS. It is an elective surgery and if she can't pay for her pills and food after the surgery, then maybe she shouldn't be doing.
=D> I agree!

I don't like second hand things for Tyler. I don't mind them, I give all of our stuff away to friends, but I didn't take anything secondhand for him. I also didn't expect anyone to provide for him (meaning new things) so we bought most of the big ticket items before my shower. I think getting pregnant and expecting other people to provide their things for you is selfish and really stupid.
This comes from a lot of bumpies who have people expecting them to hand over things. That's bullshittt for real.
Wow then your missing out on some top notch stuff and probably could be saving some money in the process.

I really just prefer to buy the stuff I want, and use it for my kids, and I know it's a UO. Like I said, I am the first to give Tyler's old stuff to my friends (like clothes, etc. Things we aren't saving for a next baby) and don't judge people who get secondhand stuff, it's just not for me.
you can buy the stuff you want name brand wise at consignment shops...or even consign stuff people give you
I don't understand the whole organic craze. I feed my kid "regular" fruit, veggies and meat on the reg and don't think I'm a bad mom. It's just not worth it to me to spend crazy amounts of money on organic food when everything else is just as good IMO.
Exactly this! To me, the organic thing is 90% a marketing ploy.

I gladly take hand- me- downs. 90% of both kids clothes were given to me by either my sister or friends. Im not too proud to save a penny.

Not that anyone was sitting at their computer waiting with anticipation, but I had to POAS for some peace of mind. No line! Honestly I knew it was virtually impossible because we use condoms 100% of the time, but still. Please show up Aunt Flo!
Haha, you go girl! COME ON AUNT FLO, WE WANT A VISIT.
You'reOn the organic subject.... Organic milk is not necessarily better for you. The pasteurization process can destroy a lot of the nutrients. Also, at an organic dairy farm, they aren't allowed to use cleaners to clean anything; milk machines, barns, etc. the feed also has a lot of weeds and other stuff because they can't use pesticides. If you're ok with all that, great! A lot of people don't know that stuff though.

I've also read that they can use pesticides but it must be "natural". The pervasive fear of man-made chemicals totally irritates me. Regardless, people seem to think they are getting squeaky clean products and that's not necessarily true.
Hijoi's post just reminded me. I hate to buy my LO's clothes ahead during a sale. I know it's the smart thing to do and my mom usually does this for me anyway, but I just don't have the room to store all this stuff. I barely have room for their current and old clothes!! Plus I hate to buy stuff that I won't get immediate satisfaction of wearing/using right away. I'd probably end up forgetting what I had, too. I still only buy stuff on sale, but either current size or only one size up for the following season.
I'm bad about buying gifts ahead too. I'm such a last minute shopper.
@jfresh when someone posts a picture that has all these "facts" and "statistics" (usually to back some wild and outlandish claim.) Those people usually think it is the word of god and is the answer to what ever side of a debate they are for.

They are having a bachelor party for my BIL this weekend. They are going to a Braves game in Atl. I think it's stupid to go to all this trouble because he's been married since last August legally. They went to a justice of the peace while he was in USAF training last year and now are having a big wedding. I think it's a waste of money at this point.
ITA! H's friend proposed and got married at the JoP while he was on his pre-deployment leave a couple months ago. I get why they did it; the benefits are so much more for a married person. Fine, but they're planning a "wedding" for next June and it makes me stabby when I hear about their plans. I just want to shout "You had your wedding! You're married!" Want the chance to celebrate with your family and friends? Sure, have an anniversary party or vow renewal. But you made the decision to get married in two days, so now you don't get a shower, bachelor party, etc. H tells me I'm a heartless biitch. Don't care. They're getting a happy anniversary card from us next summer.
Guess my UO is that I got legally married and then had the big wedding 2 years later when we could afford it. No shame in my game.

My original post was referring specifically to hand me downs (when you just get a bunch of stuff without being able to go through it) but I guess I don't even go to consignment shops. I buy stuff on sale, but I also don't need to justify it since it is my money. I'm not hurting anyone by doing this, it's just my UO.
When I get hand me downs I am able to go through them. I take what I love and donate the rest .

I don't see the problem with not wanting to use second hand stuff. I buy second hand all the time but I get it, I love new stuff too. Give it a rest.

Oh my word, thank you!
I never said there was a problem not wanting hand me downs. If you can afford buying out the gaps fall line then go for it. I just said what I do so calm your tits. I personally will be buying out the childrens place fall line.
I buy organic. DH works at Whole Foods and has gone to these places where they get their produce and beef. Not only does it taste a thousand times better, the animals are fed better, not injected with growth hormones and the produce is grown by local farmers the way things used to be grown. They can use certain pesticides but they have to be approved as does the entire place to be given a label of "organic". There are so many factors that come into play for organic besides just not using pesticides.
Organic milk producers are also allowed to clean the machines, they just have to use cleansers, sanitizers and teat dips listed in the OSP

I totally agree with everything you said Chipmunk. I've done a lot of research on this as well so Ava only gets organic and now my H and I mostly eat organic too. It's actually not that much more expensive. We just buy what we need for the week and try to use it up before buying more. We have less waste this way because we plan our meals more.
We also don't use the microwave anymore either. It took me awhile to get my H used to that, but I don't think we've used it for about 6 months now.

Judging from some of the "new bump" threads - here's my UO:
Sorting threads by last post is the right way for an internet forum to work. How else do you actually know what people are talking about?
