Soooo - I know we all love our Little One's! but let's face it - life's a lot different with a newborn in toe.... especially for us FTM's.

This bears the question. If you could get any "kid free luxurey" back right now, no questions asked what would it be?!?!!?

Easy traveling. Pre-kids, H and I traveled all the time. I miss those days but I know they're coming again.

I will start since I was clearly thinking about this today.

Mine would be a day at the pool. All day - to swim, lay out, read and have a couple cocktails....

A close second would be getting drunk. Don't judge But I'd love a night out or even just on my deck to sip wine and/or cocktails all night without worrying about LO waking up or some other type of baby emergency.... I certainly wouldn't want the hangover part though.

Honestly, I really want to go to the movies, with DH, and not have to feel bad about leaving LO with a sitter, or rush home and be parents again. Dinner, movie, drinks alone at home, staying up too late, making bad decisions. ;-)

The time and energy to get my whole house clean at once! With two school-aged children and a 3 month old, it rarely happens. When it does, it gets messy again before I've even had time to enjoy it being clean.

Honestly, I really want to go to the movies, with DH, and not have to feel bad about leaving LO with a sitter, or rush home and be parents again. Dinner, movie, drinks alone at home, staying up too late, making bad decisions. ;-)

I was just telling MH last night that I would love to go to the movies at the drop of a dime. I would also like the luxury of being able to rest when I'm sick.

I'm a teacher and I really miss my summer days of sleeping in, coffee and reading, suntanning at the lake, and staying up late! I'm always rushing to get to bed so I can get the maximum amount of sleep possible. DS doesn't like sun or wind so I feel like I'm watching summer pass by from my living room some days.

I'm always rushing to get to bed so I can get the maximum amount of sleep possible. DS doesn't like sun or wind so I feel like I'm watching summer pass by from my living room some days.

I said the exact same thing to my husband this week and truth be told it's been hard for me. I live in CT - you get about 3 nice months of the entire year. Typically this time would be spent at the pool or at the beach. this year its been spent in central air. As much as I wouldn't want to have a winter baby - I do wish DD was old enough for sunblock and swimming etc.

I second (or third) going to the movies! DH and I love going to the movies and there's some movies out now that I would love to see.

Also travelling. Since I had to use up all of my vacation time for maternity leave, I don't see a vacation happening this year even if we wanted to bring DD.

Not sure these are luxury but:
A. Sleeping in after sleeping all night
B. an afternoon of easy shopping without having to deal with carseats, strollers, nursing, meltdowns and so on. The mall is just no fun anymore.

Luxury I guess would be a full spa day. Mani pedi facial massage.

Same here - we took her down on Sunday b/c my MIL rented a house. She had a solid meltdown when we got there - I think because she was hot.... And there was no way to cool her off. Even when she calmed down, it just wasn't that enjoyable. We spent the night - and she didn't sleep, again though I think it was too hot for her. All in all - a TON of work to load the car with minimal to no satisfaction.

I too miss being able to travel at the drop of a hat! I recently saw a great deal for a resort in the Caribbean that DH and I went to before we got married, we were all set to pull the trigger, but then I realized that they don't have any healthcare on the island! It just wasn't a risk I felt we could take with a 2 month old. Boo.

I also miss date nights--LO won't take a bottle, so I can't in good conscience really leave her with anyone yet.

I'm in MN - so beautiful here but for over a month we had to rush a walk in the am before it got too hot, and if it was windy, no outside time. The last few days have been more pleasant though!

This exactly! I live in FL and I used to spend my summers at the beach or pool, drinking, and going out with my friends. Can't believe that was only a year ago. I can't wait until next summer when LO will actually enjoy the beach.

Yes we have actually but the closest drive in here is 30 miles away

My best friend and her husband used to do drive-ins with their LOs. It worked pretty well for them.

I live at the beach and have only been three times this summer and I'm usually there every single day! It's just to much work to haul everything down and set it up and then make sure DD is covered at all times and then when she has a meltdown hurry to put everything away and go back home. It's just not worth it to me. So I wish for a day at the beach with cocktails and friends and then coming home and relaxing and sleeping all.night.

Kid-free...In my dreams...I can't even remember the luxuries that come from that after 5 kiddos. Oh well. One day, I'll remember. That is if I'm not too old to have my memory still in tact.
