mama needs sleep advice!

Alright ladies, I thought I knew what uncomfortable was, but little did I know just how bad it gets! I am 32 weeks 3 days and have entered the really uncomfortable stage. I currently sleep on our leather sofa on the end that reclines. I use a pillow on each side of me an  one under my feet. It's ok for a while but after a few hours I am in pain, restless an  miserable. We farm and so our house is surrounded by fields of corn, along with the whole valley filled with other various crops, so something has me stuffed up and very congested. We open windows at night if it's cool enough. On top of that, as you all know breathing is tough, I always seem to be short of breath, since there there is only so much room for lung expansion. After all that whining, anyone have any suggestions for a comfortable sleep position? Laying down in bed is not an option, my belly is to heavy and for some reason my tail bone feels like it's broken if I lay for very long. Any ideas would appreciated. I so badly want to enjoy what little time I have left, it's my last pregnancy and it has been a tough one. Thanks for your ideas!

    I'm sorry... I feel your pain. Although, I'm still toughing it out in bed. We have a memory foam bed topper that helps support my belly. I've debated on the recliner at times. Waking up at night and not sleeping has gotten worse for me the past week. I just tell myself the twins will be here soon. I hope you figure out a solution that works for you!!

  • Thanks! We have a sleep number but there isn't a number for twins. Ha ha. Plus the amount of extra pillows I need pretty much runs the hubby out of bed. I think I'll try a rotation of couch and rocking chair recliner, or sleep standing up, that seems to be the best position for baby A, since he/she is on the bottom. (Both still transverse, heads on right but we will c-section at 38 weeks so no biggie) :0)
