Re: ***Weekly Lovenox Ladies Check-In***

  • Hi ladies!  I expect that Aurora is very busy with her little one and no one seems to be posting this thread, so I thought I'd hop in.  Hopefully I got it right!  I probably won't be able to post it every week, so if anyone else would like to step in, feel free.  I just didn't want to see us get lost!

I'm doing pretty well.  32 week appointment with the MFM this afternoon!  Can't wait to see LO again.  DH and DS and I just got back from Chicago last night.  It was wonderful.  It was a work trip for me, but we found plenty of time to play as well.  It was so fun to experience it with DS.  This is the first time he's really been this interactive (16 1/2 months old).  Flying at 32 weeks was pushing it, but I drank a ton of water and walked frequently.  Needless to say, that's it for us travel-wise until after baby arrives.  Kind of puts things into perspective and makes me realize that we're getting close!

I've had a little bruising creep up this week, so I'm gonna work on my injections and see if I can't resolve that.

QOTW: I love baby movement.  It's definitely my favorite thing about being pregnant.  That and the anticipation, although that can be nerve wracking at the same time.

  • Bruising is better since I'm down to one shot a day and the Arixtra doesn't seem to burn like lovenox.
I guess the best thing about pregnancy is just the miracle of creating a new life.
  • Hi girls, I'm a newbie to the check-in. Im due march 10. Recently diagnosed with a Protein S deficiency after having three losses. My RE has me on heparin 5000 units twice a day. Me and DH have been doing the injections. I started them last fri and each site has a huge bruise. I feel like I'm running out room already. If I get too close to a previous injection site then I bleed. I thinking its all normal but right now I'm dreading the next 8 months but I got to do it. Looking forward to hanging with you ladies for a while :D

  • Welcome Zapgurl! Check out the links to the tips...they really help. I find that the further back I go (like away from my belly and toward my back), the less I bruise. Also, icing the site prior to and after injecting helps tremendously with pain and bruising. I'm a fast injector, but most ladies say to inject very slowly to help minimize bruising.

  • Hi Ladies!

Week 30 and everything is going well!  I am having my shower on Saturday and have a lot of family coming into town, so I'm very excited.

The shots are going pretty well and becoming 2nd nature.  My husband has been helping since my belly is getting too tight for any injections, so I really only have my sides left and reaching them around the belly and the girls is getting difficult!

My favorite part of being pregnant is feeling the baby move and kick.  Since I have an anterior placenta I don't get to feel him as much, but this week the kicks have been very noticeable and I'm loving every one!

  • Hi ladies!

20 weeks today! Half baked! I have my A/S tomorrow, although I do get to see my wee guy with weekly cervical checks. Waiting on my labs that tested my Lovenox levels and expecting to go up to two shots, according to my hematologist. My tummy is super tight, and I am thinking about trying my inner thigh soon. I am starting to have blood pour out the minute I remove the needle.

Still on bed rest as a precaution, and doing weekly 17P shots.

QOTW: My last pregnancy was my first, and a twin loss, so just the thought of bringing this little guy into my loving marriage is thrilling. Everyday is full of worry as I get closer to V-day, then we will focus on getting him to term.

    Have a great weekend ladies!

  • Hello. got to week 28 and have now developed umbilical artery resistance and mild hyper tension. Hoping it stays mild and I can still get to 37 weeks. My OB has increased heparin to 60mg a day and put me on BP meds and I got my steroid shot as well. All good wishes to keep this one baking to full term are appreciated.

  • Hi ladies! Just wanted to let you know I had my little peanut--a boy, of all things! A few scattered thoughts I want to share, which are relevant to one board I post on or another:

    1. You CAN go from zero dilated to full blown labor very quickly-- it happened to me over a period of 4 days.
    2. VBACs are awesome--I'm so glad I went for it. And that it worked out!
    3. I had cleared the heparin out of my system long before I was fully dilated. My last shot of 10,000 mgs was about 2 hours before I started feeling timeable contractions, and I had the baby 11 hours later.
    4. Contractions that are regular but only last 30 sec each should definitely be taken seriously!!
    5. Team green was worth the wait ! I nearly caved every single day, but am so glad I didn't.
    6. Epidurals are an elixir of the gods. I got one at 4cm and it was smooth sailing after that. If I could get one every day I would.
    7. Stitches in your vag are no joke.
    8. Circumcision is no joke, either! Make sure your SO is prepared for the sight when he goes to change the diaper!
    9. If you're unlucky to get a supermodel for a labor and delivery nurse like I was, just remember that your SO is probably not paying too much attention at that moment.

    Happy, healthy babies for all!!
  • Hi all,
This is my first time posting. I've been lurking for the last couple of weeks. My EDD is January 28,2014. I was diagnosed with MHTFR at 8 wks, after baby was falling behind developmentally. I'm now taking Heprin twice a day, and baby is doing great, and has caught up to where it should be!
I'm just so thankful baby is doing well!
    H&H babies everyone!

  • Hello Ladies.
14 weeks tomorrow! Hello Second trimester I have been looking forward to you. Although I will feel much better when I hear my baby's HB in the second trimester which wont be till August 12th, Seems forever away!! I haven't really been bruising. I think my hubby and I finally have it down. Although this week after injecting one day  I bled instantly pretty bad, not sure if we hit a vessel? I thought I would for surely bruise there, but nothing yet!!

I am not sure what I love most about pregnancy so far. I am sure I am going to LOVE movement, which I cannot wait for. I am not sure if I have felt baby yet? Last night when I was lying down and once while driving I felt something lower right just above my public bone like a tap/gas feeling. I feel like normally when I feel gas I have to fart after TMI sorry. But both times this happened nothing. So who knows, guess time will tell. I feel like it may be too early to feel baby? One thing I do like about pregnancy is watching my belly grow. I am starting to notice i am getting bigger. I started weekly belly pics last sunday and will do one tomorrow as well. Hoping to see a difference!

    Hope everyone is feeling/doing  well!!
