GET REAL WEDNESDAY

In the spirit of Skidderdo's "GET REAL" post yesterday, I'm starting today's version.

Last night I didn't workout as I intended, but I DID do a great job of prepping for the morning today, thus got up and got on the treadmill at 5:30 AM... it was just a quick 30 minute workout (ran 20 minutes and did 10 minutes of arms on the BOSU trainer), but better than nothing.  I'd set the coffee to brew automatically nad got my smoothie prepped in the fridge last night, along with prepping LO's bottles, so that was one less thing to deal with this morning. 

Goal is to do that one more time this week, and then get a third workout over the weekend.

Next week's goal is to maintain 3X / week, and figure out how to start bringing my lunch to work instead of eating out.

I'm already exhausted but I feel really good and proud of that accomplishment.

I'd love to be able to fit in my old business wardrobe by the end of august (we have a summer dress code until then, but Sept 1 it is back to suits and heels!)

  • Did 50 sit ups and 1 min worth of planks this morning.That's a huge step for me seeing as my chosen exercise a few days ago was lifting cupcakes to my face. I'm happy with my weight, my goal is to get everything tight & get back to my healthy eating.

    Haha about lifting the cupcakes.  I'd very innocently been having a cookie with my usual salad or sandwich from au bon pain, and then I looked at the nutrition info yesterday and discovered that it was NINE weight watchers point (I get 35 in a day).  Uh, no cookie today!

  • Kudos to you!  I'm still too selfish with my sleep. I'd rather be flabby than tired at this point.

    Well, part of the reason it might have been easy for me to get up is because LO woke up from 4-5, and DH tended to him, but I couldn't fall back asleep, so eventually I just thought "eff it" and got up! :-)

  • Yay for Get Real Wednesday!

    Today I made a big Costco run. We usually eat pretty healthy - not a lot of processed food at all. But hey, we can always do better. Just loaded up on fresh fruits and tons of veggies. 

    Have not made it to the gym yet today (Warner is on like, hour 3 of his mondo-nap)... but we are prepped for a big walk later this afternoon. When hubs gets home tonight I hope to get down to the gym to FINALLY get back on the work-out bandwagon.

    Thanks for sharing everyone, definitely a big motivation!

    Haha. Cupcakes! Last week I ate aalllllmost an entire package of chocolatey rice cakes. I lost a couple pounds that week, too. Lol I walked on the treadmill yesterday and swam in the pool a bit. Put a bathing suit on!

    This is where I am still at too! I attempted a few exercises while LO had tummy time and it hurt my back. So not even doing that now.

  • DH and I are up at my parents' lake cottage for a few days, and it's too chilly to lay out at the beach, so I plopped LO in the ergo and we went on a nice long walk with the dog. There are some decent hills, and the burn felt good haha.
    Only bad thing is that when we're here, I'm always hungry and let myself indulge. We have oreos and cheese doodles in the pantry. Uh oh.

  • For the last week I've gotten on the treadmill almost everyday for 30 min each time! My goal is to continue this and possibly do an additional 30 min in the evening and to also clean up my eating!

  • I go back to work on Aug 5 and I hope to get much more disciplined then. I've been terrible on maternity leave. My office has a gym and a personal trainer so I don't have an excuse not to get back on it. Somewhere between working and pumping at the office I hope to get in some exercise. So hard!

  • Does going up and down the stairs at work twice daily  to pump + pumping count?

    I started taking bikram yoga classes when I was on leave. I bought a 20 class package and have only been 3 times but I felt really good after. I plan to start that back up tomorrow. We also have an elliptical at home in the basement. I'll try to do that 2x/week as well.

    I love this idea. :) Yesterday's post inspired me to do some yoga last night that I have been wanting to try, and also to stop beating myself up over how I look (I have been pretty negative about this for the last few weeks now, but also not doing anything about it). DD and I go for a walk almost every day but its time to get serious about making a change! Thanks for the kick in the butt, guys! :)
  • Love this idea of posting workouts everyday! I think it will keep us motivated! When I originally read this post I hadn't worked out at all in about 3 weeks and was feeling sorry for myself! Then I read this post and was super motivated by all your workouts! I logged off and did the 30 day shred while LO was aleep, thx for kickin my butt into gear! Here's my red-face sweaty look! Sexy huh?

I love the idea of posting workouts daily to keep us motivated and support each other. Who is brave enough to post a sweaty post work out pic too? Lets lose this baby fat together!!!!   • Thx for kickin my butt into gear ladies! After I read this post the first time I logged off and did the 30 day shred. It's only 20 mins long but I haven't worked out in about 4 wks so I gotta start somewhere! I love the idea of posting our workouts everyday to support and motivate each other! Who's brave enough to also post a sweaty post workout pic? (I tried but having trouble). Lets lose this baby fat once and for all!!!!
