I like this article re: post-birth body

I'm happy to hear someone else notices the beauty that is the post-birth body.  I remember this stage after having DD1, and am not sure how many other ladies are aware of what your body goes through after giving birth, but this article says it nicely and with respect.

  • Thanks for sharing.  I think it is a great article and anyone that does say anything negative about her body needs to be taken out and publicly flogged.

It took our body 9 months to get ready to deliver a healthy baby all of that work doesn't undo itself overnight.

  • Yeah, that was refreshing to see. Obviously still beautiful. What I don't get are the comments to this article. Why are they all mad? Did they not read the article?

  • I like this article too. So many people think that a woman's body should just snap back into place like growing and having a baby is no big deal.

  • Thank you for sharing. I hope my hair looks a fraction as beautiful as hers after I give birth, lol!

I just have to wonder though, what's up with those comments on the article? They are ridiculous!

  • Of course we will still look pregnant after! I appreciate her being real and not like celeb moms who hide out post baby until they look perfect again. No way everything can change back to how it was overnight. So unrealistic!

  • Yes! And oh does it take time! Although the 2 weeks after it was awesome to see the lbs just FLY off (for me it was 20 lbs of all the fluid, blood etc) I was left with 10 lbs of "extras" I had to lose. The thing that surprised me the most was how strange it felt when I stood up for the first time (and the entire day after!) It was a crazy! It felt almost like a hollow, empty feeling. To the point I had to walk almost hunched over a bit and felt very strange to breath!
  • I always look like my midsection was ran over by a truck after my deliveries, but puff back up in a few days. I think it must be because I lose so much blood and fluids.

  • Thanks for sharing. I am one who loves my pregnant body but that postpartum body is a downer for sure. Kudos to Kate for being a "people's princess" like her MIL.
