  • Ugh. I went to the DMV today to get an updated license with our new address. The dude asked me if my height and weight were the same. Sure...

We took a trip to California right before I got pregnant, so I have 10 pounds of baby weight and 5 pounds of "Napa weight" left.

  • I was overweight before I got pregnant. I only gained 21 pounds and lost it all within a month by going on daily walks. Then I got lazy and gained a bit back. I'm now down 11 pounds but have about 50 more to go before I'm not considered overweight.

  • I've lost the weight in terms of the scale, but still have some of the belly...just can't seem to get rid of it!   Hang in there!  The weight will come off.  I second what someone said about taking walks.  That's how I lost most of my weight!

  • Yup. Sad thing is I had lost all but 2lbs at 6 wk appt. and had put it all back by my 3mo check up. Smh

Well, the number on the scale is pre-pregnancy, but what I lost in lean muscle mass, I gained in extra hip and thigh fat, so I guess the answer is yes!

  • I gained about 20 lb in the 2 years before I got pregnant. During my pregnancy, I gained about 25 lb on top of that, which I lost within 3 weeks of giving birth. Since then, no matter what I do I can't lose the previous weight.

I recently started a strict lifestyle change/workout routine. I am now down 8lb, but have about 20 more to go before I am in a healthy range again. I use my fitness pal, which really helps me stay on track with my diet, and started strength training to build lean muscle mass.

  • I gained 58 pounds during the pregnancy. Lost 30 the first month and have not lost anymore since bc I am not breastfeeding. I walk every stinkin day and am basically starving myself now and can't shed a pound. The belly looks like I am 7 months pregnant. Depressing! I wear those belly girdles and look even wider!
  • Dear Lord yes!  I was really lucky and lost all except the last 5 pounds.  So I was stoked that BF would help burn more calories.  So far, no good.  The only time I seem to start losing a pound or 2 is after a day or 2 non-stop eating.  (Those are the days when I always seem to be hungry but nothing is really what I want.)
  • I am down 40, still 20 left. I gained SOO much this pregnancy. But, I keep my workouts light, and would rather give myself time to get back in shape. I'm in no rush, DH is working out of town, and I like ice cream WAY too much :)

  • I started to feel like the only one! This thread made me feel much better. 15 lbs to go. Gained 55 with my baby.

  • I felt like the only one too. I gained 37 pounds and still have at least 22 more pounds to lose. My weight won't budget no matter what I do. Before pregnancy I worked out twice a day and now I'm lucky if I get in twice a week but I'm going to try to do more. It's so hard when I'd rather spend my non-work time with baby though. I saw a friend who had her baby a year before me and she still has a belly so I guess it's more common than it feels . I kept hearing BFing would help shed the weight fast but it didn't for me.

I gained 80 and have lost nearly 60. I still have 20 to go and this 20 is hard! I was about 10 pounds heavier than I like to be when I got pregnant so really I could stand to lose 30. It's hard!!

Same here. My sister told me to give it a year for the belly to go back to normal. I'm skeptical that will happen, though.

  • Yep. I'm struggling like hell to get this weight off. I gained about 45 lbs while pregnant and the last 20 lbs of baby weight just isn't budging. Plus I'd likd to lose at least another 20 on top of that. Ugh.

  • Ugh! I ended up gaining 40lbs with DS (35 in the last trimester alone!).... I was about 10 lbs over weight when I got pg with him..... I lost 20 of it almost immediately after having him..... but then 10 came back... yikes! So now I am down 6 of that extra 10 but have 39 more pounds to go to get back to my college weight. It sucks because it never feels like it will go down, however since I started walking several miles a day it has at least help the appearance of not being as fat. lol I have the Lose It! app on my phone and it helps me track my intake and output... which has help. After reading all your comments I am a little more hopeful!
  • Yep. About 5ish more to go and I don't think it's going anywhere until I stop BF. Oh well. I try to eat healthy but I haven't been strict with my diet for fear of it messing with my supply.

  • Yes, but I havn't been trying that hard so it has been slow progress. I had gained 40 while pregnant. I have 8 lbs to go to get to pre-pregnancy weight.

  • Yes. I lost 35 of the 45 I gained. The first 30 was pretty easy, actually. I did a lot of juicing, exercised, breastfed, and it melted off. Then I had this pesky 15 lbs that just won't budge hanging around, saying "hey, remember when you had a baby? Your stomach does!" With a lot of work I've lost another 5, but I'm pregnant again so I'm about to get it all back.

  • I've lost all of mine (I only put on 17) BUT my shape is wayy different so I'm trying to shed at least another 10lbs so I can fit into my pre-pregnancy stuff.

  • So glad to see it is the norm to still have some left to loose. I have about 10 lbs left to go that will not budge! Anyone else friends with "freaks" who's bodies bounces right back after baby? Ugh. That seems to be the norm in the world of other moms that I know. In bikinis and looking fantastic 2 months after baby.

  • I do! Gained 30 during pregnancy, now I have 12 to go!! I started doing zumba and I think this will help.
  • I just started Daily Burn and love it, you can never get bored. Well I haven't yet should I say lol

  • I gained nearly 30 pounds before I got pregnant in June 2012.  While that weight gain wasn't intentional, it seemed to prevent a large amount of weight gain while pregnant.  Plus, I was ill during the first part of my pregnancy and lost ten pounds off the bat.  I ended up gaining the 10 pounds back plus six.  My little girl came out at just over 6 pounds so I guess I was right back down to my "pre pregnancy" weight.  I have, however, not lost anything since and my baby is 6 months now.  That initial 30 pounds can't be blamed on pregnancy, sadly.  So, I've got a ways to go, ha ha.
  • I lost half of the weight right away and havent budged since. I was careful about my eating and worked out nearly every day for 3 weeks straight....lost half a pound! Lose a bunch of weight while breastfeeding? I call B.S! I've accepted the fact that the rest of this weight isnt going anywhere until he's off the boob!

  • I am back to my post baby weight for DD2 but I still have 10 lbs to go before I get to what I weighed before I got pregnant with DD1. Its seems as if I have hit my plateau and I am probably going to have to start working out to loose these last 10 lbs.

  • I was 110lbs before I got pregnant, then right before labor (Dec.30) I was 160-165lbs.  Then in February I was 135 an  I was so happy. But about a month ago I got weighed at the docs and they said I was 157lbs..I didn't even know I was gaining weight.. it sucks ,I'm on a diet right now so hopefully I will lose some of this.
  • That's ok. I went fr 160 to 206. Lost 18lbs after he was born then my 6yr old went into the hospital & I gained it ALL back PLUS 4LBS! So now I'm stuck at 210! This freakin sucks!!!
  • I gained about 40 pounds during my pregnancy. I have about 15 pounds till I'm down to my prepregnancy weight. I've never dieted in my life though. Before, if I needed to lose weight, I'd just change what I ate and could easily lose weight. No biggie. Not sure if it's my age (I'm over 30 now), the hormones, or a combination of both that's keeping me from losing the baby weight now. My baby is 7 months old, though, and I'd really like to get back into my prebaby wardrobe.
  • Lurker here...

Ive lost the weight in terms of my clothes(pre preg clothes fit), but not on the scale. Ive been working out and eating right religiously for 16 weeks now.. it is such a slow progression.

I lost all the weight plus some with DS in 4-5 weeks, not so much with DD.
