We used our infant seat till 9 months old but stop using snap and go at about 5 months cause it was easier to put in a real stroller by then. But it was still worth it even if we only used it for a short time. We did not have a travel system.
We had the Snugride 30 + snap-n-go. We used the snap-n-go as our only stroller until 6 months. By then DS was sitting well and much preferred to be facing forward so he could see everything. We switched to a conv seat at 7 months because DS was close to the height limit of the Snugride 30 by then (he was 90+ percentile for height).
