High-Risk Pregnancy

And I'm back...

I just found out today after my third 1 hour test that I have GD again. I managed to make it this far. I am trying to figure out how to get back on the GD diet train. I stayed pretty close to it, but have to get strict again. I think it is a bit more overwhelming when there is such a short time to go. I failed with DD at 14 weeks.

  • Sorry you have to be back in the high risk group but it sounds like you had a good outcome with your first pregnancy so that is inspiring. I have GD too and am only 7 weeks! Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!

  • I'm sad for you that you're back, but it's nice to see a familiar "face" again :)

I think you're right that it's a little more overwhelming when you have a short time to figure things out, but I also think that since you've done this before you'll fall back into the routine quickly. And it's only 8-9 weeks this time instead of 20+, you've got this ;)

  • Yay congrats Memali! You think you are going to have to do it all over again too?

My surprise baby #3 has cut me more slack than the other two.

  • Thanks! I feel like the more people I talk to, the more surprise #3's I find ;)

I do think I'll be at it all over again. I had it from 28w with DD1, and 11w with DD2, so I don't hold out a lot of hope that I'll avoid it this time. I did manage to lose over 20lbs before this surprise snuck in, so maybe it will at least be a little easier to control this time. I go for my first regular appt next week and I'll probably just ask for the GTT right away.

  • I lost a bunch of weight between #2 and surprise baby. I actually had to beg my OB to let me have the GTT early. I finally just gave up and got it from high risk when I went in for my NT.
