Intro: age 37, 6 weeks pg

Hello! I had my first appointment this morning, so I thought I'd introduce myself. We're anxiously awaiting our next appointment in 4 weeks to hopefully hear a heartbeat.

This is my and my DH's first pregnancy; it was a while coming (almost 3 years) but shockingly happened spontaneously on a treatment break.

As far as questions: we're planning to meet with genetic counselors to discuss all our options in that regard. If anyone has any insight, suggested questions, or even simply personal experiences you'd like to share, I'm all ears. We're planning to keep an open mind at the moment.

Congrats! I am also 37 with my third. I have my first appt the 29 and should be 7w3d. Looking forward to the u/s. here's wishing you a hh 9 months!!

Congrats and welcome!
I have learned so much from others' experiences on this board with the new non-invasive genetic testing that is available. Harmony, Verifi, Panorama, Materniti21,are all basically the same blood tests but marketed by different labs, thus the different names. I will find out next week if my dr office will do one of these. I'm also trying to find out in my insurance will cover it; since it is so new, the ins reps I've spoken with are clueless to what I'm asking about.

I was 37 when we got pregnant but 38 now, DH is 41, we decided against genetic testing because it wouldn't change anything for us. We had our second ultrasound last week and are having a healthy baby girl, no signs of any genetic disorders or birth defects. It was very reassuring. She is a lovely little stubborn baby... Much like her parents.

Congratulations! I'm also 37 and 17 weeks along with #1. We decided against genetic testing as well b/c it wouldn't have changed anything for us. I agreed to the Level II ultrasound b/c I wanted as much information about our "little bean" as possible. We have two weeks left until that appointment and I can't wait to find out what we're having! Wishing all of you ladies a healthy pregnancy!

Congratulations any pregnancy no matter how long the journey's been its still a wonderful one!

I am 37, 17wks with our first. I'm not sure what DH is, I don't quite understand the lingo (DH, TTC etc) on the boards yet, but my husband is 29. I don't have any insight to share other than just breathe. The counselors are there to help but I think they freak you/us out more. We really aren't settled until we "know". It crosses my mind everyday about what might be. I won't find out till the 7th of Aug what the sex is and we see that full scan, Second Sequential screen? I don't know the exact name of it. To keep the butterflies in my belly at bay I tell myself, what I think is an old wives tale, that it helps if the father is younger. Please, don't tell me if that really is a tale. I really don't want to know, it helps my nerves. I wish you a great and wonderful pregnancy.

Congratulations!! I'm 37 and 6 weeks too. Had a scan which measured 5wks 5days on Monday last week. We were trying for 3 years too. We have u/s 2 on Wednesday and we hope to see a heartbeat as we should be 7wks. We were taking a break too before I was to have a HSG. I did have a blood test for cystic fibrosis which was negative but we've not discussed anything else yet. Once I get to 9 or 10 weeks my RE said I will head back to my OB for the rest of the pregnancy, I think we'll take about other tests then. Good luck to you for the rest of your pregnancy.

Congrats. I am 6 wks, 38 years old. I have a 10 year old boy and had a mc last year. Really hoping that doesn't happen again. ;;)
