Riley was born via C section on 7/22 at 10:11pm weighing 8lbs, 9oz and measuring 20.5 inches!
Long Version: I went in for cervadil Sun night. Had it placed without issue. Did not get offered Ambien so slept like 5 hours. Doc took it out, no dilation. Started pitocin. In four hours with pitocin, no dilation. I went 8 hours unmedicated with pitocin, still no dilation. Got the epi, spent 4 more hours on pitocin, 1cm dilated. Made the call for C section. I had meconium in my water when it broke. Get strapped to the table for C section, doc gets Riley out and they suction her. They keep suctioning and she has breathing issues. They took my precious baby to NICU while I was strapped down, it was awful. Doc then discovered my original dermoid cyst is 6cm and found another one on my other side. Doc took both out and I friggin loved my anesthesiologist and OB. Riley came back to Mom around 12:15am. All 4 grandparents held her. We didn't get settled in the recovery room until about 3am.
Thanks for reading! If I can give any advice to you it's have a plan for the recovery room. We were so exhausted that we didn't know which way was up or what to do. The nurses were ok, but we really, really could have used a baby nurse or Grandma to take over. We sent Riley to the nursery last night and that sleep has made a huge difference today.
