After 19 moths out summer infant baby monitor died. When I called CS they said batteries have to be replaced on the monitors every 12 months. Well after troubleshooting we found out it wasn't the battery it's the monitor itself and its not replaceable under the one year warranty. Plus u have to have the receipt. So we are headed to buy another monitor. Any recommendations?
edit: We want a video monitor.

this.
We have the more expensive Motorola video camera (had it for five months) and have had no issues so far. We love it, the sound is perfect, the video is so crisp I can see DS breathe. I love that you can move the lens, this more recently as DS moves all around his crib throughout the night. Keeps us from getting out of bed.
Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

I feel like I have just had the worst luck ever! I had the most expensive Motorola one, then the night vision stopped working so they sent me a new one. Then I added a second camera. Now both the replacement first camera and the second camera barely have any night vision that works. During the day it's fine but at night I can't even see the kids. I think I have lemons! This is a common complaint on the Amazon reviews however it definitely isn't a widespread problem since many people use it with no issues. It's just some cameras that don't work right.
Same here.

Do any of these that any of you have recommended have the DECT technology?
I'm so hesitant to get any video monitor that doesn't have this because of safety/security features. My husband bought the DropCam which has bank-level encryption security but I'm not sold on having to use my cell phone as the camera, so I'm still on the hunt. So far it seems like the Phillips Avent one is one of the only ones out there that has this feature.
Just curious what all of your thoughts are
