The only worry with "heated" items...blankets, etc is that they can raise your temperature too high so you should avoid sleeping with your heated blankets on, etc. If you're monitering it, you're fine. I would think you'd turn them off when you got too hot!
I dont think heated seats get quite as hot as some heating pads do. The main reason to not use heating pads is so you dont raise your core body temperature, and I dont think car heated seats have that much power.
I take a hot bath daily with both babies and use a heating pad. My kids are fine and my OB said they would be. Just use your heat, if you break a sweat at any point your body is trying to cool you down.
Whether you are dealing with seats, baths, blankets or pads just listen to what your body is telling you. If you feel overheated, then it's too much. Otherwise, you and the baby are fine. Your body won't let you down.
oh please. you are talking about a heated seat that your butt sits it! Perhaps you should be concerned about taking warm showers or drinking hot tea as well.
i will say this---i agree, they won't raise your body temp high enough. however i did read one article about how the electromagnetic waves that create the heat might not be great for baby. that is potentially from the more 'naturalist' point of view.
that being said, i personally still use my seat heater but i let it heat up then after it's been on for a bit and the rest of the car is warm i turn it off.
