My husband's company just went union. It had been union in the past but was bought out. We currently have a UHC plan that is wonderful. As of August 1st we have to go to the union plan. We were told during contract negotiations that the plan was no longer grandfathered and covered preventive care. We just now got the paperwork. They signed the contract last Monday. The plan is still grandfathered. That means a $2000 first year for this baby. And the UHC plan covered all prenatal care and ultrasound at 100%. The union plan applies it to the deductible and you have a 15% coinsurance. Pretty ticked right now. Can you file a grievance against the union itself? Now I have to try to schedule my 20 week ultrasound during the 16th week so I can save money. May not get to find out the sex on this one.:/
