5 AM wake up

this is E's new trick. It just started about a week ago but it cannot continue. Is he the only one?
How to stop? He is wide awake and flips out if we leave him in the crib, even with toys, etc.

  • yep, here too!!!!  Grayson was sleeping through the night from 10 weeks!  but all of a sudden around 6 weeks started waking up again.  Since then it's been once a night and it's usually between 3-5:00.  But he's always been easy to put down for the night and when he does wake up takes a bottle and goes right back

Although the past 3 nights it's been a total fight to get him down at night and then also to get him back down if he wakes up.  Sad  :(

  • I can try later but he's usually having a melt down by the time he goes down at 7...lately he passes out even earlier, 6:30.
he's teething and woke up like 5 times last night, usually it's only 1-2 times (he hasn't STTN since February)

  • Happened to us last month. If you have time, go to Isis Parenting's website and search for their sleep and nap webinars. There is one specifically on "early morning wake-ups". I watched the webinar and followed their advice. Prior to that, DS was waking up at 5-5:15am; after "training" he started waking up around 6am. Over the course of the past month, he gradually moved his wake-up time (on his own) to 6:45am. Good luck.

  • We went through this a few weeks ago...it was 530. Honestly, there wasn't anything I could do. So I just got up with him, and eventually he started waking up a bit later...so for us, it seemed to be a phase. But that time period made me so appreciative of any day he sleeps past 615!

LO was waking up at 3 am after consistently STTN. I thought she might be hungry - she's grown a lot recently, she is So active and busy during the day, and her BF sessions are shorter. So I started feeding her more ie bigger meals during the day and that seems to have cured it. Also, increase protein - It takes longer to digest and keeps you fuller longer.

  • Ok tried this this morning!
