We have had a naked crib since my son was born. Now, he is 10.5 months old, rolls over and sits up. My question is when do you feel it is safe to put a blanket on him overnight? TIA

We haven't used one yet because I'm not sure how he would keep it on. He rolls around when we lay him down in the crib at night, so I'm sure he would just kick it off immediately. We just dress him in long sleeved jammies for now to keep him warm (since we have the A/C running).
She would get tangled or throw it out immediately. Either way, it doesn't seem worth it right now. She also gets really frustrated when she gets tangled, so I bet it would lead to several night wake ups, which I don't need. It's probably safe though now. Isn't the rec 12 months? I don't remember
We use a sleep sack because there's no way Beb would keep a blanket on. AND it would likely wake her up. BUT I wouldn't have a problem with it from a suffocation viewpoint if that's the concern.
DD has a blanket, she holds on to it to go to sleep. It is an AA blanket, DH gave it to her one night because I was out and she wouldn't go down, I had slept with it the night before and it was the only thing that got her to sleep that night. We've given it to her ever since.

We have blankets in the cribs. They love to snuggle with them and while they don't really keep them on I know they like them. During the day they always snuggle blankets randomly against their heads.
I am comfortable with it and I also check on them when they fall asleep and move them away from their face.
I don't give E a blanket because I don't see the point. He is a wild man in his crib so it wouldn't be on him or anything. He has a lovey though, and I just put him in footed pjs since the house is a little cold.
We have a blanket in the crib. I have had it in there since she started rolling and we ditched the sleep sack. She uses it when she first falls asleep and then kicks it off during the night. I am not worried about it, because she can move easily and well and it isn't big enough for her to get tangled in.
We have also used a smaller crocheted blanket since she got too big for the sleep sack. She likes having it when she falls asleep. It does get kicked off since she moves a lot at night but she can find it and snuggle with it or cover herself back up if she wants.
Charlie has slept with blankets from the beginning. She moved to her crib around 6 months from a swing and we gave her multiple blankets. We've never had a problem.
FWIW my almost three old is only now figuring out to cover himself up with a blanket when he's cold. I'll continue to use sleep sacks for my youngest so I don't worry about him tangling himself up or getting cold.
Leo sleeps in a sleep sack and no blanket. I just introduced a teddy bear but he hasn't taken to it yet. He will find it in the morning and talk to it which gives me a little time before he goes for the monitor camera.
This was at about 7 months, I think? She LOVES her blankie! And I've had it in the crib ever since about 3 months. I wouldn't worry, but that's just me...like PP said, you know your kid!
we have a aden and anais bamboo blanket (super thin and very breathable) in there and one stuffed animal.
side note: we wrapped the aden and anais blanket around my husbands head like 3 times and he could still breathe through it, so if you are worried about how breathable the fabric on blankets are, i suggest those.
We've had a crocheted afgan hanging on her crib since forever, but recently she will pull it down and use it as a pillow. Almost every night she does it. It's hilarious.
