I've had an instinct since I was a kid that I would have a girl for my first born. And since the hubby wanted a boy so bad, he knew it would be a girl due to that.
As long as she's healthy, gender didnt matter to me.
But I am really curious as to how far along are you? Can we find out the gender this soon?
I have my 12th week appointment in 1st week of August, lets see if I get know!! Can't wait
I am 12w3d.
I had the Panorama test at 10 weeks. The test analyzes fetal DNA so the gender results are 100 percent positive with no false positives. You can get the test done at 9 weeks.
I've never even heard of a Panorama test. I'll have to look it up and see if Kaiser offers it.
KP offers what they call the NIPT (non-invasive prenatal test) to women 35+ and those who have screened positive with other tests. Still relatively new offering there and they use it for Down, Patau & Edwards syndromes but won't cover gender determination unless you are at-risk for a sex-linked condition. And there is no out-of-pocket option for that... You have to sit through a genetics lecture about screening & diagnosis, as well as choose only one screening test (NIPT counts). Anyway, we did this and got results in a week (<1 in 10,000 chance of any trisomy with 99% accuracy) so it was worth it for peace of mind. Hope that helps!!
