FBI fingerprinting for non US citizen?

We are working on our homestudy paperwork and the company our agency recommends Livescan won't provide the service to legal residents that aren't U.S. citizens.

It seems our other options are to go through the FBI directly, adding 68 weeks to the process or find another 3rd party vendor that has the ability to perform this service. Has anyone encountered this problem and gone with a company they could recommend? Preferably with a faster turn around time?

    I haven't run into this problem, but is there a Morpho or Sagem Morpho near you?  That's who we used, but we are both US citizens, and I don't know if they would have the same issues as Livescan.

    Either way, I really hope that's a 6 to 8 week delay in processing, and not a 68 week timeframe!
