Just need some advice.

I had my daughter 8 months ago, and 3 months ago I stopped taking my prenatal vitamins and since then I am having alot of issues with mood swings, crying spells, and other issues and I am wondering if it is because I stopped taking my prenatal vitamins or is it something else? Has anyone else had this issue, and if so what did you do about it?

TIA!

Re: Just need some advice.

  • PPA and PPD can come later, not just right after birth. A few ladies on my BMB had it present around 4 or 5 months postpartum. I'd talk to your doctor, sweetie. The best way to take care of your little one is to take care of yourself!

  • Did you also stop or lessen breastfeeding at that time? If so, it could be due to hormonal shift from not producing as much or any milk anymore. Also, your body is changing like crazy for up to a year after you have a baby, hence why most doctors suggest you wait a year from delivery to another pregnancy. It never hurts to talk to your doctor if you suspect you might have PPD. It can creep up on you real quick, it's best to stay on top of it.

I was only able to breast feed for a month, because my body was producing any breast milk, so I don't think that is it. I have had many sad, really low days in the beginning of my postpartum but they have gotten better as time has moved on, but I still have those days from time to time. So I think I am going to make an appointment with my doctor.
