Jumperoo still?

Is your LO still using the jumperoo, or have you packed it away already?

Lately, when I put DS in the jumperoo, he'll start whining after 5 minutes; whereas in the past, he'll happily jump for 15-20 mins. Wondering if it's just a phase, or if he's gotten tired of it finally.

Re: Jumperoo still?

  • Nope, same here...he's pretty bored with it, although I can get him to last a bit longer if I sit right in front of him and clap as he jumps. Kind of negates the whole idea of getting stuff done while he's in there though!

  • My kid still LOVES to jump! We were on vaca away from her beloved jumperoo for a week she would stand in the hotel room while we held her and jump for 20 minutes at a time. When we got home at 8 at night she jumped for 45 minutes and then 30 minutes as soon as she woke up the next morning. She is jumping away right now.

My dd has always been hit an miss with it. I keep it around for days when I have to shower while she is awake or I need to go downstairs to change out laundry. She is so michevous and I need something to contain her.

  • He's still using it...but only because I put him in there so I can get things done.  He fusses when I put him in and then tolerates it for 10-15 minutes.  He does love to jump, but he'd rather jump when we're holding him!

That's exactly the same here!  I used to be able to put him in the jumperoo in the evening for 15 minutes while I cook dinner.  Now he'll whine before I can even get the stove going, unless I stand and clap in front of him (but obviously, I can't cook at the same time)!

Just wondering if it's time to pack it away...

  • I packed mine up about a month ago, DS would only stay in a few minutes at a time before he got fussy. He just wants to move around now. I now use the high chair to contain him if I'm cooking or need a minute.

  • Just packed it up. She loved to jump but with her being on the move I rarely put her in it anymore.

  • we actually brought it out at 6 or so months, and were told it was making DD tighter, so we stopped and just recently brought it out again.  We only use it when we have to leave her alone, and she can go maybe 10 or so minutes in there before she starts crying for someone to take her out.

She actually enjoys more crawling under and around it these days, and pulling up to play with the toys.

Same here and I've been thinking about packing it away.  We got DD a walker and she loves it and prefers it over the jumperoo. But I have to keep my eye on her more in it, now that she's figured out how to maneuver it.
