DD is 4 months and I have been using Kawaii newborn bamboo pockets during the daytime since she was born.
I want to switch to CDs at night as I have been using disposables so far. My issue is that she gets a rash easily if she poops at nighttime even with a nice thick layer of zinc. So naturally I am afraid that CDs will make this worse since I can't use zinc and the poop may sit closer to her skin. I have coconut oil and Grovia Magic stick that I can use. Of course I always change her the next time she wakes to nurse but only if I know for sure she's pooped like if I can smell it or heard her poop.
Any advice? I plan on using Kawaii goodnight heavy wetters.

Re: Nighttime and poop
This
I cut up a fleece blanket for my DS. He gets red overnight, but not any other time. We weren't leaking, but the urine touching his skin seemed too much for his sensitive tush. I lay the fleece on top of my pocket diaper, and he is good to go. As pp said, if you use zinc creams make sure to rinse off and wash separately.
