So my sister gave me her Britax Roundabout, manufactured in 2008.  I called the company just to make sure it hadn't been recalled, and the representative said it expires in May of 2014 because the plastic breaks down and they can't guarantee it would absorb impact.  DH thinks it's BS but of course our LO's saftey comes first and we could get a new one come May. Thoughts?

    Yeah I actually just found a website explaining exactly why this is true.  When LO's birthday comes in November I just might as my immediate family to all chip in and get the Britax 70.

    Thank you so much.  I know SO many people who use the JJ Cole Bundle Me in their car seat.  I took an infant care class that said NOT to use anything like that...just to put blankets.  My mom drove me nuts with that! My sister used it so naturally I had to!! She had no idea she wasn't supposed to when I told her.  Thanks for the advice everyone.  We'll just use this one until November.  It took SO LONG to clean it (full of food, ew!) and figure out the flucking straps that had I known all this shiz before I would be at BRU buying one now instead of typing this.

    What PPs said, but also.

    BRU sometimes does trade in programs. You might check into whether they offer one for carseats. If so, when. And then you can trade that one in for 20 percent off of a new one!
