I have it. I don't think it's super impressive. Most of the info can be found on their website, this website, or through Google.
I've heard better things about the Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy. At least I think that's what it's called. I paged through it at the bookstore and it looked like it had a lot more info, I'll probably pick it up soon.
I read it the first time. Read the whole thing at first but I really utilized it in the last tri, when I was like what is happening?? lol, I would go to the book for reference..
Has anyone read this book and is it worth the purchase and time?
Yes, I got the book when I was pregnant with my son and it is so worth getting. In fact I pulled it back out just the other nite to read it again during this pregnancy.. I highly recommend it
I have it and have read up to the end of the 2nd month so far it's okay, but doesn't really go into a lot of detail for a normal pregnancy! It says quite a bit if you have something out of the ordinary, but not a lot of details. HTH!
First Pregnancy
Confirmed: July 18, 2013 ~ EDD: March 19, 2014
I personally really liked it. However, it was the only book I bought during my first pregnancy so I have nothing to compare it to. But that also means I liked it enough that I didn't feel the need it buy another. I thought it was informative, answered a wide variety of questions, and didn't freak me out anymore than reading some of the posts on the various bump boards. I think it helped me a lot during my first pregnancy when I didn't know much about what to expect. I've even looked at it once already this pregnancy.
Such a long read. Like a school book. I loved Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy and Belly Laughs with my first. Although both are more comedy than educational.
I seem to have the opposite opinion of most ladies commenting... I think What to Expect is positive and informative. In fact, it eased a LOT of my fears and worry. If you want to avoid the scary/negative stuff, stay off this board. LOL -- I don't read a lot of what's on HERE. I'm definitely going to check out some of the other recommended books though...
I found it somewhat over the top and and laughable at times. I stopped reading it at about 20 weeks. Others seem to have found it helpful, though, so don't let my opinion dissuade you from checking it out yourself.

This! And I also agree with PP who suggested it should be called "What Could Go Wrong"
