Home Free and Red Card

Does anyone use these services and if yes, what do you ship?  From WalMart and Target respectively.  Both allow free shipping (homefree on limited products).

Clearly, you guys have gotten me into a shipping/money saving/efficeincy mode today.

I think I spent 45 minutes figuring out the best deals on applesauce and pouches....compared to my hourly rate, and now needing to work tonight, I don't think the cost savings will hit this month....

Re: Home Free and Red Card

  • we use the red card, mostly in the store.  it's worth it for us to get the 5% off diapers and food and formula and wipes.   we haven't done any online purchases, but that's mostly because we're in target on a weekly basis.  I think DH wants a desk though, so maybe we will soon.

I use the red card (linked to my bank account) in the store to get the 5% discount.  In addition, one percent is donated to my son's school.
  • I have a Redcard and use it regularly. We use Target diapers and when DS was a baby bought formula there. I stop in to Target fairly often but it's nice to have the option of free shipping for diapers. Target also has good prices on clearance clothes online so I sometimes pick up really cheap things for DS or myself to put away for next season.

I use my red card often. Lately, it has been to purchase gifts for ppl who live in other states. Love the free shipping and discount!

  • I ordered something from target's website back in 2009 and they estimated the shipping at around $15, but then ended up charging me $100+ in shipping. I've never ordered from their website since.

I've shopped from Walmart's website for years and even before the HomeFree option, they had $0.97 shipping which was awesome. I just ordered a bed frame and under-bed shortage from them - got here quickly and was indeed free shipping. I've never ordered food items or diapers from the website - can't speak to that.

We're ordered diapers from Amazon Prime and Diapers.com (with coupons, it works out and they keep a brand we like in stock) - good experiences with both.

  • I use Target red card on weekly basis. I don't usually order online from them because shipping seems to take so much longer than Amazon. If I can't find something at Target, I usually order from Amazon.
