Yes there are. I can't comment on your Pedi's advice, but we have done eggs and my LO is 7 months 2 weeks. I really think most docs say that anything except honey is fair game after 6 months (WCM not recommended because they don't want it to replace BM or formula). Of course, we introduced them (eggs) on a day without any other new food and watched for allergic reaction. But then again, I've let her nibble off my peanut butter sandwich (and watched closely for a reaction) so I'm pretty relaxed about these things.
That does seem odd. Our pedi recommended anything but honey, starting in small amounts and watching for reactions with high-allergy-risk foods like eggs, fish, peanut butter, etc. She did recommend keeping Benadryl in the house but so far we've been fine!
Straight eggs is a much bigger allergen than baked goods. My hubby, for example, can't have eggs (scrambled, etc) but he can eat bread and bagels and other baked goods just fine.

My thoughts exactly.

Yep. Our pedi told us that "they" have changed the rules. Anything but honey and choking risks.
Dunno...we've done eggs since about 6 months. I think that's an old recommendation (to hold off til 1 year). Maybe cooked eggs are different? I would ask him.
My LO is allergic to eggs and his pedi said that baked foods with eggs may not bother him. Also I have read that the egg white tends to be the allergen and not the yolk. But if it wasn't for his allergy she said it would be safe to eat prior to first birthday.
