protocol and medication experts... question for you!

So I keep reading that menopur is taken to help mature the eggs for retrieval.  Should I worry that I am not taking menopur? I have taken it in my previous cycles and always had mature eggs.  I am with a new RE this cycle. I am on a Micro Flare protocol. I am just taking diluted lupron and follistim. I am probably going to trigger tomorrow evening (depending on next u/s) so I know they won't have time to add menopur to my meds.... Just another thing for me to worry about and obsess over. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Me:38 - TTC for 3+years - Multiple failed IUIs (w/clomid, femara,injectibles - all BFNs) IVF #1 - Jan 2012, CP -IVF#2 March 2012, CP - Went back to IUIs all summer. Multi-Cycle Egg banking for FET. Egg retrieval #1 October, 2 frosties. Retrieval#2 January 2013. 6 eggs banked - waiting to be fertilized in March, FET March! Zero eggs survived thaw process - FET Cancelled. New RE - Now banking Embryos for PGS - July ER- 3 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilized, 1 genetically normal embryo! FET - Feb. 2014, BFP - Mar. 2014, EDD 11/6/14 It's a GIRL!

    There are other indicators of maturity, such as an 18mm follie or e2 levels at around 200 per mature follicle. I'm sure you are fine, and you probably would have mature eggs even without the menopur. I had mature eggs my first IVF but was not on menopur, so no worries!
    | Married since 2008 | DH and I: Both 30 | Me: Endometriosis and Carrier of an X-Linked Dominant Genetic Disorder | DH: Low Morph | Planning IVF with PGD and PGS in 2013 | Freeze-All IVF #1: March 2013 ER 3/26. 29R, 12M, 11F. 4 5AA frozen blasts. Freeze-All IVF#2: May 2013 ER 5/15. 31R, 21M, 20F. 6 5AA frozen blasts. Our PGD probe was completed in late June (total of 20 weeks to develop). PGD and PGS Results came on 6/19: 3 healthy embryos (normal chromosomes and unaffected by my family's genetic disorder). FET #1: July 2013 Natural Cycle - Cancelled due to insufficient lining (only got to 7.5mm). FET #1.2: August 2013 - Medicated Cycle with Lupron & Estrogen Patches to build up lining. Single embryo transfer was 8/23. Beta #1: 240! Beta #2: 578! U/S on 9/19 at 6w4d: We saw the heart beating at 131bpm. Second U/S on 10/4 at 8w5d: We saw the heart beating at 178bpm. EDD 5/11/2014

    Hey there as the pp said you are fine. I know for dor patients my clinic doesn't do menopur everyday, I think I had like 4 doses total, and it was my best cycle,so try not to worry!

    Thanks for the input!  You guys are right... I am having trust issues since things went poorly with my previous RE. But I need to just have faith! I guess we'll know in a few days anyway!

    I am definitely not an expert, but here is my experience.   I just did a Micro Flare protocol that was microdose Lupron, follistim and menopur.  I really have no clue what the menopur does.  Try not worry.  There is a reason your new RE chose the meds that he did.  And, he clearly knows more than all of us, Dr Google included!

    FWIW, I had my ER this morning and I'm still worried about the number of mature eggs.  So, it's not like menopur takes that worry away from us crazy IF ladies.

    Hi, I wasn't prescribed menopur for my microdose Lupron protocol either. This time around, I am on a different protocol and if all goes well, I will add it in after a few days of stims. I am thinking that maybe the menopur isn't often prescribed for the microdose Lupron protocol? I may be way off base but maybe it is only prescribed when you are suppressed more?
    I would run it past your RE just so their explanation answers your questions but I wouldn't worry about it. I know, easier said than done since I am one to worry about every aspect of this process!

    Edit.. My cancelation had nothing to do with the lack of menopur. I was canceled prior to when that would have normally started anyways! I didn't want you to see canceled in my siggy and worry that it had something to so with it!
