My daughter is mspi (either that or truly allergic- hasn't been blood tested yet- dr wants to wait until 2). Every once in awhile, she will get a diaper rash that the instant the poop touches her skin, it turns into what looks like a chemical burn. She screams in pain, especially when I wipe her. Sometimes it turns into open sores. I am trying to figure out what is causing this- hidden dairy or soy (I've been more lax with soy b/c I thought she was ok with it), citrus, tomato? I just can't figure it out. I thought it might be red food dye b/c I gave her a cherry Italian ice a day before this happened but it has happened on more than occasion.
The poor thing is in so much pain. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on what this could be from?

a food diary is a must. How about meds? is she on any meds? i know some give severe diaper rashes. Take her to a GI. THey will be able to test her BMs and maybe see what's causing it.
Also, i would demand to see an allergist. There is absolutely no reason for you to have to wait until she's 2. We have seen our allergist about a dozen times and he's almost 4.
btw - how old is she now?
Good luck!
