So I called last Thursday because I was having what felt like cervical contractions. Left a message and asked them to please return my phone call just to let me know whether this was normal or I should be seen. No return phone call.
Called again Friday. Guess what? No return phone call.
Tried calling today. Oh guess what? Now their voice mail box is full! So I called 5 different times and couldn't get a hold of anyone! I'm so mad I'm thinking of switching OBs.
I was still have those weird cervical contraction feelings, but now cue left flank pain and a fever (which I took Tylenol to bring down). I ended up hitting up the ER, because I was very concerned. Got to hear the baby's heart beat. And I ended up having a moderate amount of blood in my urine and diagnosed with a kidney infection. Boo. Now on keflex.
I'm so angry at my OBs office. Could have saved me the ER co-pay if they had just returned my phone call. I'm asking around friends to hear their experiences with other OBs in the area. I'm just really disheartened about this because I actually really like my OBs.
Re: Grrr, furious w/ my OB.
Wow that is awful that they didn't call you back for several DAYS! I'd be so mad too. My office always has one OB one call 24/7 and you get patched through to them for anything relatively important. After my wreck last Thursday night the OB called me back less than one minute after I called in. I can't believe a nurse didn't even call you back.
Sorry to hear about the kidney infection also. I hope you feel better asap!

I would switch. That is unacceptable.
That would be unacceptable for an OB's office to not return a call or be available if I had a question. I would definitely look into switching. I really sorry that happened to you. Yay for heartbeat and healthy baby!

Its a surprise! Team green!
An OB who doesn't return multiple phone calls would be an ex-OB for sure.
Definitely find someone new.
And sorry about the kidney infection.
A
Definitely not OK. Pregnant women with possible urgent concerns should have phone calls returned promptly, the same day if at all possible. If your doctor is unavailable, there should be a backup doctor.
Maybe just maybe, their phone system broke down. That's the only reasonable explanation I can come up with.
Wow! Change OBs! Where is Easter Washington are you? Is there a larger city near by you could do to?
PS: I live in Seattle and went to school in Walla Walla. Not just being nosy.

I echo PPs. I would have been furious too and I think it is a good idea to bring it up to your doctor at your next appointment. In the meantime, I would be searching for a new OB.
I hope you are feeling better soon!

I think it was horrible that your OB didn't call you back, but going to the ER may have been unavoidable. The office that my OB is out of has a doppler and an old ultrasound machine but that's it. A hospital has much newer and more advanced monitoring equipment so I would have been sent there first.
I would definately demand answers as to why you didn't get an answer sooner.
Due June 25 2017
I would be furious as well!! I would definitely switch if you have the option to.
I'm glad you and baby are healthy.
My cat can read EKGs, can your human do that?

I'm in the Tri-Cities. There are a sh!t ton of OBs here. I was just with my group because I'm high risk and they have the peri.

This is something to really consider. Sometimes it's the staff that is failing and not the doctor himself. I wouldn't switch just yet, until you can meet with him in person and explain the sitaution. Depending on how he handles it, then I'd switch. I'm not saying to let it go and I would be super pissed in your shoes.
Gotya! We used to drive to Tri Cities for everything when I was in Walla Walla so I imagine you have the best selection.
I'm glad you took matters into your own hands and went to the ER.
what they did was unacceptable.
