No more paci!

My DS has gone without his paci 2 days and nights now. I just didn't feel like looking around the house for it the other night. He has done pretty good so far. I don't even know if he notices it. How did it go for anyone else, especially nap time?

Re: No more paci!

  • The paci and I have been fighting lately!  When DD was around 16 months we started to only allow it at naps and at night.  First day was rough then she was totally fine....she would hand it to me after sleeping.

Well, about a month ago she became obsessed with it and wants it all the time.  There are days when she's fine and doesn't want it....other times she cries and cries if we won't give it to her.   It's driving me bonkers!

She doesn't have molars yet so it could be teething...and I also notice she wants it when she's "relaxing" or something upsets her.

Haven't decided what to do yet...I think to eliminate day time use we'll need to get rid of them totally.  I know it won't go well but it's something we need to do.

  • We got her down to "paci lives in the crib." She is fine with that--bedtime will be hard to break though.

  • That is great.  We are almost there.  She has bitten through all of her pacis except 1.  I'm really hoping she doesn't bite through that one during my work week.  I think she is mentally ready though.  We just transistioned her out of her crib just a few days ago, too, so I hope its not too much for her because I don't feel like buying anymore pacis
