Tick Bite

We went on a hike yesterday and later that night I discovered a tick behind DD ear. We removed it and put some peroxide on it. Anything I should be concerned about?

Re: Tick Bite

  • Lyme disease.  Call a local vet to see if there have been any cases in your area this year.  I would likely go see my doctor as well just to be safe.  Good luck.

  • Just keep an eye on it. If a rash develops, call your pedi ASAP.

  • If the tick was on for less then 24 hours the risk for lyme disease is low. Im Not sure about other diseases though. Did you keep the tick to bring to dr I believe they usually want you to bring it in
  • Not sure where you live, but here in MN deer ticks are the issue. Wood ticks are super common and usually not a concern. If you know what kind of tick it was, or can look up pictures online and compare, then you can figure out if it was a dangerous type.
