Baby knee pads

Poor DD has a bad knee bruise likely from speed crawling on hardwood floors. I have small ones from following her. She usually wears pants or baby legs inside but it's been so hot it seems extra clothes are a bad choice. Why aren't babies born with tough knee pads? Is this normal or is she an easy bruiser like me? Anyone else look like boot camp survivors? I feel bad like I should have covered the house in bubble wrap. Walking is a ways off yet for us and she just won't stay on the rug. Gah.

    Yeah we just keep DD in pants all the time for this reason.

    Eh, his knees look a little rough, but I figure it is short term, as he will be walking soon.  It s too hot to have him in long pants, and he doesn't seem bothered by it.
