I thought I loved gdiapers...but after a few weeks of using them they just weren't working. The fit wasn't right (seams dug into our baby's thighs) and there were too many steps. I love that they're trim, and we actually never had leaks, but the tab with aplix was really digging into M's thighs and the liner on the inside also left deep red marks. Did not seem comfortable at all
gDiapers: trim and cute, but expensive (both in general and because they are sized). They are not very absorbent. If you have a heavy wetter, these aren't a great choice. I would never use them for overnight or even a nap.
I've never used Best Bottoms, but they are popular. They are much more economical than gDiapers because the cover is one size. Also, some people on the board have mentioned they ended up skipping some insert sizes or just using the covers with prefolds, making them even a better deal.
Between the two I would go with Best Bottoms even though I've never used them.
I never tried gdiapers because the thought of having to buy all those different sizes just made me see dollar signs so I passed.
I didn't get my Beat Bottoms until my DS was 12 lbs / 2 months so I went straight with the medium size. I have both hemp and microfiber inserts as well as a hemp overnight doubler. I really really love these diapers. I have a good fit on my now very chunky 4 mo old and with the hemp these diapers are SO trim! Only downside is that these do not contain NB poo very well, meaning it will not stay just on the insert and will get on the cover, I've never had them actually leak though. So if my LO is wearing these and poops, chances are the cover will need to get washed.
The hemp overnight doubler is extreme. It's 8 layers that I pair with a 4 layer microfiber insert and my baby is good for the night. It is kinda bulky though, so I don't use it often.
Other than that these are my go to diaper for travel as I can pack 4 changes and use about half the space of my regular CDs. Love best bottoms!
I don't know if you can really compare those two. Yes they are both technically hybrid diapers...but......you're going to find that people either love or hate gdiapers. I personally hate them. Plus you have that extra plastic snap in piece. I love Best Bottoms on the other hand! And it is the cheaper route to go if you're interested in a hybrid system. The snap in inserts are easy peasy and you can get doublers and overnight inserts that snap in underneath your regular inserts. If I had to go with one system only, I'd go with Best Bottoms. Also the cover is wipeable and the gdiapers are not, so you may find you need more gdiapers than you would BBs.
I love my Best Bottoms diapers and so does dh. Got hooked with the fox trot print cover and have not looked back.
The poop does tend to get on the coverwith my 4 month old but its nbd to toss it in with the dirties and use one of my other covers. I have 4 BB covera and 1 sweetpea cover that I use the BB inserts in. Ive also used the covers with prefolds and homemade inserts without problem.

I have used both and definitely prefer the Best Bottoms. We get a better fit, they're easier to use, I love the double gussets and they're cheaper. I also love that you can use the covers over a snappi'd prefold as well.

I can't comment on best bottoms, never tried them
