on Christmas? Trying to think of a creative way for Dh and I to spread the news. I will only be a little over 8 weeks but we can't wait until our 1st appointment, the fam lives out of town. Any ideas??
We are. My family is out of town. I sent my mom a "Grandma & Me" picture frame... I took the stock photo out and I drew a cartoon (I used to study illustration and my mom loves my drawings) of her holding "baby H," with the note that "I'll be here next August!" My dad is a painter and I sent him a onesie packaged as "paint rags" in a little plastic paint can.?
I just asked about this yesterday...It's probably on the next page, so you may be able to find some good ideas there! I think we're going to do the double picture frame with a recent picture of us on one side and then the Mastercard "realizing there are 3 people in the picture...priceless" thing on the other side.
I was going to wear a funny shirt, but it is on back order ( boo!) So Instead, we are giving everyone photo calendars for Christmas. We had them printed w/ the EDD on it. So when they open it we will tell them to turn to July!
And we won't be w/ all of our family, so I am telling them to all open it @ the same time! Then they all find out @ once!
WE ARE!! On Christmas Eve I will only be 8 weeks but my first appt is not until Jan 6th and I can't wait that long. This is our second and my SIL is due 3 days before me (she has already told everyone) so I think we are just going to announce at dinner by asking DHs mom how she would feel about having 2 new grandbabies born within days of each other and she her reaction. We were going to add the baby to the bottom of our gift tags under the "From" spot and wait for the first person to notice but I don't think I can wait through dinner for that, lol.
We are telling our families on Christmas too! I went online to cafepress.com and ordered a bunch of Grandpa and Grandma to be mugs. I wrapped them all up in individual boxes and plan on giving them to each of our parents as gifts. Hopefully they get the hint! LOL.
We're giving out digital photo frames this year and when I show my parents how to use it we'll have a couple of photos that say, "Congratulations! You're going to be grandparents!"
my inlaws live out of town we called them but then we also sent them a cute card I found in target that just said something like little laughs little coos many more baby moments to look foward to... then I wrote congrats your going to be grandparents. I am also using this same card for my younger siblings who dont know yet. I am going to give them the card on christmas morning. were so excited and I am bad at keeping secrets I am surprised I lasted this long with only telling a few close friends and both our parents. Good luck with telling everyone its the best part.
We are! I think the idea has kind of backfired though because my family live sin a different state and so they haven't seen me in months. Well, I was planning on wrapping up a picture of the sono and putting it in a baby frame but since I am 15 weeks...I am already showing. It looks like I am just going to have to walk thru the door...oops!
We are too. Got the cutest "definition of a grandchild" frames from the Hallmark store and we are going to include a goofy pick of DH and I that will indicate the knocked-up state I am in.
With my first pregnancy, I ordered baby bibs from customglamgirl.com that said "I love Poppa" etc for each of the grandparents. I wrapped them up and gave them as gifts. The card said 'Thought this would come in handy in about tk months."
?This time we told the family at Thanksgiving and put the ultrasound photo in a picture frame and told them all we had this funny little picture to show them.?
We are! We're wrapping up t-shirts that say "your looking at the greatest grandpa/grandma" and bibs that say "I love grandpa" or "What happens at grandmas stays at grandmas" and giving it to them for Christmas. I can't wait to see they're reaction! It's the first grandbaby on both sides. )
you can buy the t-shirts on ebay (do a search for grandma or grandpa t-shirts) and the bibs at Walmart or babies or us.
CONGRATS everyone!!!

We purchased white onesies at Target and had them embroidered with "Spoil Me" on the front for both sets of grandparents. I think the message would be hard to miss

We are telling MIL and FIL at Christmas. We'll have our first u/s by then though so we're going to put the pic into a frame for MIL.
I was going to tell my mom the same way but with my sister's heart attack scare my mom needed some good news.
