who has two thumbs and is hitting NYC in late september?

MOI!!
Anyhoo, I need to know what to expect in terms of the weather. Also what attire would be appropriate for said weather. Keep in mind I live in a tropical country so I'm pretty much clueless.
I could google, but it's always much more fun to ask you guys.
TIA.
Re: NY in late september
September/October are my absolute favorite times to visit. It isn't too cold so you can enjoy the outdoor things--but you aren't sweating walking around there.
Definitely go!
No way! End of Sept is always a bit warm still (I am always dying to wear boots but its still too hot). It would be rare for a warm coat and hat to be needed! (Maybe upstate where it is cooler but not in NYC). I agree with the other pp's. Jeans, short sleeved shirts should be fine. You will need a sweatshirt or light jacket at night. Fall in NY is the BEST. Lots of fun fall festivals!
