NPALR: Kate in Labor

I would by lying if I said I wasn't excited to hear if she's having a boy or girl. A picture of the future prince or princess. Parenthood is such an amazing journey and as eager as I am to hear what they are having I also have empathy for Kate. Having to protect her baby when the whole world wants that picture and story. I hope Kate and the baby are protected. And she has a healthy safe labor.

    I think there was a deal when Diana had her boys that there could be no pictures of her kids until they were 18. I don't remember ever seeing pics of them when they were young.

    Maybe that is something that could be arranged with this LO.

    Maybe I'm way off on this.

    DH said this morning that he doesn't see the big deal, but historically, it's pretty exciting.  This could be the future king or queen!  They changed the rule recently that if it's a girl, she would be next in line and they wouldn't have to wait for a boy to be king.  Pretty cool.

    I do hope they protect her privacy though.  I didn't want anybody to come see me in the hospital.  I was sore, tired, learning to BF, scared of being a new mom... I hope the media understands that a bit and let's them be a quiet happy family until they're ready to share with the world.

    I think after Diana died there was an agreement that only images of the boys at public appearances be published...basically give them a chance to grieve and grow up privately.

    I'm actually kind of sad it's a boy, as I really wanted them to have to test the new rule that whoever is first born gets the crown, even a girl.

    I actually was surprised it was a boy ~ I figured with them changing the rule, they were kind of preparing us for it being a girl KWIM?  But hey, a baby is a baby! <3

    Now we just need a name people! :D
