  • Nope!  I don't know why anyone would want to schedule one unless their baby was breech or under doctor's orders.

Seriously though!  I can't believe doctors would allow someone to schedule one if it wasn't medically necessary.  Recovering from one was seriously horrible.  Okay, not incredibly horrible but still!!

My friend's sister had both of her children via elective c-section, her Ob had no problem with it at all.

Anyway, my opinion is either Kate is being induced or elective C-section, maybe she doesn't want to "ruin" her royal vagina lol

I was at my OB's office for a yearly exam 2 years ago and I could hear the conversation going on in the room next door. The woman in there was pregnant and asked to have a csection on Nov 11, 2011 because she wanted the cool birthday. The dr went on to tell her a csection is a major surgery, longer recovery, etc and not needed unless there is a medical reason. The patient was not happy and said its her baby, she can make that decision. I was blown away by her attitude!!!

Some people are so stupid! I don't think there is anything like that going on with Kate.

  • I think she was induced. I hear a lot of people getting induced first thing in the morning unless it is more of an urgent thing. I think if she had a planned c-section it would have been announced by now that the baby was born. They are 5 hours ahead of me, so it would be 6pm now over there I'm pretty sure. So, 12 hours past when she arrived.

We have no way of knowing... but I did read about her planning a hypnobirth.  I also get the impression that she isn't "that" kind of 'royal".   Just my opinion.  She just seems more normal to me.

Are you American? I get why most Americans wouldn't really care about the British royals, but for people in the Common Wealth it is kind of different. I mean, the Queen's face is plastered on all of our money, "God Save the Queen" was played in my marching band endless times when I was a teen, and one day I will actually call Will and Kate the King and Queen of my country. It's kind of different.

Maybe she's just in labor and it happens to be early morning?

Of course, that's a total possibility! I just don't think she had a planned c-section. She's been in the hospital for 12 hours now, so if that was the case then I think there would have been an announcement by now. I just think if anything it was either spontaneous labor, or an induction (that may lead to a c-section, who knows).

Do most American's consider them celebrities? I've never heard of Royals being referred to as celebrities around here. Yes, they are well obviously well known because they are Royals, but to me a celebrity is like a Hollywood actor or actress. I really don't care about celebrity weddings or births either, but I don't consider Royals celebrities. I consider Royals as Royals... hard to explain.

I guess it would kind of be like if Michele Obama was having a baby... maybe? It would be a bigger deal than Kim Kardashian having a baby. KWIM?

An induction is probably more likely than a scheduled c-section. The speculation was that her original due date was July 13, right? This morning would put her over a week past that. (Although I know it was never officially confirmed.)

Married my love 8-25-12 TTC #1 September 2012. BFP 2-2-13. DS born 10-16-13.
TTC #2 in December 2014. BFP 12-31-14. Expecting a September baby!

Come on BKeane. Who's face would you rather see plastered on the cover of every magazine while you're waiting on the checkout lines: K Midi's or Kim Kardashian's? As an English-American (with two equals votes obviously), I vote K Midi times two.

In other news: love how the CNN stat makes English women look tough (yeah that's right. We really don't need those silly epidurals. And that has nothing to do with the NHS not wanting to pay for them. I promise)

Also: I don't think K-Midi is having a scheduled C-section. I think she will attempt an unmedicated birth until she realizes how much it hurts and then get an epidural or have an emergency C-section. I also think she is going to have a girl, name it Diana, and have the coolest Bugaboo pram in all of England.

LOL I didn't even know who Kim Kardashian was until this board started yappin about her.  I don't look at magazines at the checkout...I am usually trying to keep my son occupied or loading up the groceries.

I think most Americans have a hard time grasping the concept of Royal, since we don't have that here. The coverage of the Royal family is mostly through our tabloids, just like our Hollywood celebs. So yes, I do think they're considered celebrities here. There's a bit more mystery and intrigue behind the Royal family than, say, the Kardashians, because of the whole princess fantasy thing. Personally, I don't really care. I don't know much about them, and don't need to.

Bugaboo pram? It's a special toy?

    I don't think it's a c-section, but how soon would they announce if its a boy/ girl?
