At home daycare?

Hi Boston mamas,

I'm expecting in November 2013 and wanted to start looking into daycare options now. I would probably be putting the baby into daycare around April 2014. Does anyone know of, or can recommend an at-home daycare in the city?  I live in Southie, so that would be the best option, but any surrounding neighborhoods would work as well.  I don't really know how to start this process...

    Hi, 

    I went through this same dilemma a few months ago and live right on the Southie/Dorchester line. There are a few good resources. I'd start with this website: https://www.eec.state.ma.us/ChildCareSearch/EarlyEduMap.aspx

     It provides a list of all licensed childcare in MA by location. Beyond that, there is a Southie Parents forum on the website Big Tent (just try googling it). It's $25 to join, but you can post your inquiry there and probably get a ton of hits from people.
