Shower date/Holiday planning

My best friend is starting to get excited about planning my shower. Issue is: I'm due Christmas Day. I want to have it far enough away from Christmas that it won't interfere with others plans... But also far enough from thanksgiving that THAT holiday time doesn't get jacked up!!! How soon is Too Soon for my shower?

My sister is due around December 22nd. We are throwing her shower on November 16th. It is far enough ahead of Thanksgiving to not fall into the holiday rush, and hopefully early enough that we don't have to worry about a big snow storm. She lives 3 hours away and I don't want to make her travel too much later in her pregnancy, either.

Mine will be the first weekend in oct, because my sis is due oct 31, and then the holidays hit so i figure better early.

My sister was due around Christmas last year, I had her shower at the end of October. It worked out just fine.

I was due Christmas Eve last year, and my shower was middle of October - Worked out well.

The year before, my cousin was due in early January (5th maybe?) and had hers on Black Friday. I wouldn't recommend that since quite a few people were traveling for Thanksgiving and weren't able to come.

Personally, I think any time after 28 weeks is fine ... so I would agree with PP that any time after late October/ early November would be fine!

I know of someone in the same sort of situation. She's due right around Christmas. Her shower will likely be in October so as not to interfere with holiday stuff and because of her sister being in college.

I say do it mid October as well. There is nothing wrong with having it early. People will definitely appreciate you doing it before the holidays. November and December are always very busy for people.

Are you a Halloween lover? Maybe have it late-October and do a Halloween theme? I think that would be kind of fun and lots of options for activities surrounding the theme!

Personally, I think that late October - mid November would be fine. I'm due 10/2 and my shower is 8/4, so about 2 months before my EDD. I think that "typically" showers are held anywhere from 28 weeks on...

Do it in late October, early November. About 2 months before is perfect timing.
