Those that went to RE for second LO

Since I am going to be 39 my OBGYN said one I recovered from my c section and want another if it doesn't work within 3-4 months go straight back to Fertility clinic.  We have been trying since March and nada.  So question is do they make you do all they tests over (such as making sure tubes are clear, etc)?  TIA

8/2011 IUI#2 w/225 Follistim/Ovidrel trigger BFN

7/2013 Back to RE because my uterus is OLD Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

    I didn't need a RE assistance for my DD, however, we saw one prior to TTC because my husband had been through chemo and we wanted to make sure he was okay. Since I was 36, the RE just ran a full battery of tests on both of us and sent us on our way to try naturally. We conceived a month later. This time we haven't been quite as lucky. Like you, my OB said try 4 months and then go back to the RE. The RE did my FSH and AMH again, but not the HSG. He also did a SA on my husband again. Our numbers were still good, so again he sent us on our way to keep trying for a few months. We're going back in August if it doesn't happen this month.

    Thanks!  The HSG was the test I could do without again.  Almost passed out on the table.  I am out this month, so will be contacting RE.  GL to you as well.

    Good luck to you.
    Me-41, Hubby-40.
    1st BFP-8/17/12!  Missed Miscarriage discovered @ 8 week US.  D&C.
    2nd BFP-2/13/13!  Blighted Ovum discovered @ 8 week US. Natural miscarriage.
    3rd BFP-5/22/13!  By early June, progesterone plummeting.  Another loss.
    August 2013 - started Donor Egg process, but surprise BFP with my own eggs.

    I had an HSG and then had an open myomectomy which is similar to a csection. My RE did want to do a repeat HSG which baffled me because I wasn't blocked before. But apparently things can happen with scar tissue etc. ultimately we decided to do IVF which makes the tubes irrelevant but if we had chosen to do IUI instead it would have been required. So in other words, they may insist on one if you decide to pursue treatment.
    Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.
