My son is going through the 4 month sleep regression and I'm at a loss as to how to get through this.. He wakes up numerous times a night now and only wants to be held and fed. He won't go back down unless he is sleeping on my chest. So I have been sleeping with him in my chest on the couch because I am desperate. I was wondering if you think by doing this I am creating some bad habits? I'm worried that after this whole deal is done that he will depend on me to sleep with him on my chest. Let me know what you think
Re: 4 month sleep regression
My little man at 0-1-2
I have not given in to mine in that way and the regression has only lasted a very short time. Perhaps if it went on and on or something I would consider it but probably not. So far for MY two it's only lasted up to two weeks (for DS, DD was only about 4 nights).
ETA: That reads wrong. I don't mean you are doing anything 'wrong' or that you have given in poorly. I would just make sure you are sleeping with him on your chest in such a way that if he rolls off he'll still be safe. It happens.
My son did the same thing for about a week. We tried everything but nothing seemed to help besides holding him until he was in a deep enough sleep (after an hour of holding him) then we put him in the crib. As quick as it started it stopped. Just have patience and get sleep while you can it will end sooner than you think.
