Now that DD is more mobile and prefers to sleep on her side she's been waking up with her arms and legs stuck in the crib rails. Tonight she let out this terrible scream because her chubby little arm was jammed so far in a rail. Luckily she went right back to sleep after I removed the arm but in the MOTN she wakes herself up stuck and has to comfort nurse back to sleep.
I was really anti bumpers before but I am now seriously considering gettig some breathable ones. For those of you who use them, have they stopped your LOs from waking up due to getting stuck? I'm just desperate at this point because I am fairly certain she would sleep just fine if she wasn't getting stuck. Before this mobile stage she slept 8 to 10 hrs without a feeding.
TIA for any input!
Re: ? About arms and legs stuck in crib rails
DS2 gets his legs stuck sometimes. he is sleeping in a sleep sack though so it's a bit harder...maybe try that?
i'm afraid of the bumpers - he wakes up more often than not with his face crammed so i'd rather he bump his head a little than suffocate (sorry harsh word...couldn't think of anything else to get the point across)
Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

We have been using these too since around 4 months when he started to manuver around his crib and have had no issues. He's never gotten stuck and I don't worry around him suffocating. I would use them again on my next child
They work wonderfully! DD got her leg stuck so badly once that DH thought he was going to have to break the crib rails. I was nervous about them too, butvI put my face up to them and could breathe just fine.
IMHO once they're older babies and more mobile crib bumpers are fine. We moved DS to his crib when he was about 7mo, which meant he was rolling all over the place and was more than capable of moving his head, etc. He needed the bumpers to keep out of the slats. I felt comfortable using them at that point, but I would not have felt comfortable with a younger baby. I made an informed decision based on his physical abilities, SIDS rates dropping off, etc.
JMO, you have to do what you're comfortable with!
